Starting Point

There are many contradictions in the LDS scriptures. I challenge you to look at some of them with an open mind and to pray to the God of the Bible for the truth, along with reading HIS Word.

"There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death"
Proverbs 14:12(KJV)

"Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man"
Romans 1:22-23b(KJV)

"And Amulek said: Yea, there is a true and living God. Now Zeezrom said: Is there more than one God? And he answered, No." Alma 11:27-29

"And he hath brought to pass the redemption of the world, whereby he that is found guiltless before him at the judgment day hath it given unto him to dwell in the presence of God in his kingdom, to sing ceaseless praises with the choirs above, unto the Father, and unto the Son, and unto the Holy Ghost, which are one God, in a state of happiness which hath no end." Mormon 7:7

"And after this manner shall ye "baptize in my name; for behold, verily I say unto you, that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one; and I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one." 3 Nephi 11:27

Plural Gods

"Abraham received concubines, and they bore him children; and it was accounted unto him for righteousness, because they were given unto him, and he abode in my law; as Isaac also and Jacob did none other things than that which they were commanded, they have entered into their exaltation, according to the promises, and sit upon thrones, and are not angels but are gods." D.& C. 132:37

The Bible says:

"Unto thee it was shown, that thou mightiest know that the LORD, he is God; there is none else beside him."
Deuteronomy 4:35(KJV)

I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace, and create evil; I, the LORD, do all these things."
Isaiah 45:5-7(KJV)

"For thus saith the LORD who created the heavens, God himself who formed the earth and make it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited; I am the Lord, and there is none else. "Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together. Who hath declared this from ancient time? Who hath told it from that time? Have not I, the LORD? And there is no God else beside me, a just God and a Savior, There is none beside me. Look unto me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else."
Isaiah 45:18-19,21-22(KJV)

"Ye are my witness, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen, that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he; before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD, and beside me there is no savior."
Isaiah 43:10-11(KJV)

"Thus saith the Lord, the King of Israel, and his redeemer, the Lord of hosts: I am the first, and I am the last, and beside me there is no God. And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? And the things that are coming, and shall come, let them show unto them. Fear not, neither be afraid; have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? Ye are even my witness. is there a God beside me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any. Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he who formed thee from the womb: I am the LORD who maketh all things; who stretcheth forth the heavens alone; who spreadeth abroad the earth by myself."
Isaiah 44:6-8,24(KJV)

"Nevertheless, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, for a pattern to them who should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen."
1 Timothy 1:16-17(KJV)

"As concerning, therefore, the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth (as there are gods many, and lords many), But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him."
1 Corinthians 8:4-6(KJV)

"Remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me."
Isaiah 46:9(KJV)

God is a Spirit
Book of Mormon

"And then Ammon said: Believes thou that there is a Great Spirit? And he said, Yea. And Ammon said: This is God. And Ammon said unto him again: Believest thou that this great spirit, who is God, created all things which are in heaven and in the earth? Alma 18:26-28

"And now when Aaron heard this, his heart began to rejoice, and he said: Behold, assuredly as thou livest, O king, there is a God. And the king said: Is God that Great Spirit that brought our fathers out of the land of Jerusalem? And he said; Yea, I believe that the Great Spirit created all things, and I desire that ye should tell me concerning all these things, and I will believe thy words." Alma 22:8-11

God has a body

Doctrine and Covenants

"The father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man's; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, The Holy Ghost could not dwell in us. D.& C. 130:22

"God is a Spirit; and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."
John 4:24(KJV),

God dwells in Heart

Book of Mormon

"And this I know, because the Lord hath said he dwelleth not in unholy temples, but in the hearts of the righteous doth he dwell; yea, and he has also said that the righteous shall sit down in his kingdom, to go no more out; but their garments should be made white through the blood of the Lamb." Alma 34:36

God does not dwell in Heart

Doctrine and Covenants

"John 14:23--The "appearing of the Father and the Son, in that verse, is a personal appearance; and the idea that the Father and son 'dwell in a man's heart is an old sectarian notion, and is false. In answer to the question-Is not the reckoning of God's time, angel's time, prophet's time, and man's time, according to the planet on which they reside?" D.& C. 130:3-4

Wherefore, I revoke, the commandments which was given unto my servants Thomas B. Marsh and Ezra Thayre, and give a new commandment unto my servant Thomas, that he shall take up his journey speedily to the land of Missouri, and my servant Selah J. Griffin shall also go with him. D. & C. Section 56:4-5

The Bible says:

"And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make to make thee wise unto salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."
2 Timothy 3:15-16

"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."
Matthew 24:35

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets; I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no way pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever, therefore, shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; but whosoever shall teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 5:17-20

"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book, And if any man shall take away from the words od the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
Revelation 22:18-19

Creation-One God

"For, behold, by the power of his word man came upon the face of the earth, which earth was created by the power of his word. Wherefore, if God being able to speak and man was created, O then, why not able to command the earth, or the workmanship of his hands upon the face of it, according to his will and pleasure?" Jacob 4:9

Pearl of Great Price

"And it came to pass that the Lord spake unto Moses, saying: Behold, I reveal unto you concerning this heaven, and this earth; write the words which I speak. I am the Beginning and the End, the Almighty God; by mine Only Begotten I created these things; yea, in the beginning I created the heaven, and the earth upon which thou standest. Moses 2:1 (also the rest of Chapter 2)

Creation-Plural Gods

Pearl of Great Price

"And then the Lord said: Let us go down. And they went down at the beginning, and they, that is the Gods organized and formed the heavens and the earth. God Commands Lying

Pearl of Great Price

"And it came to pass when I was come near to enter into Egypt, the Lord said unto me: Behold, Sarai, thy wife, is a very fair woman to look upon; Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see her, they will say-She is his wife;and they will kill you, but they will save her alive; therefore see that ye do on this wise: Let her say unto the Egyptians, she is thy sister, and thy soul shall live. And it came to pass that I, Abraham, told Sarai, my wife, all that the Lord had said unto me- Therefore say unto them, I pray thee, thou art my sister, that it may be well with me for thy sake, and my soul shall live because of thee." Book of Abraham 2:22-25

Hebrews 6:18(KJV)
"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent. Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"
Numbers 23:19(KJV)

Heaven or Hell

Book of Mormon

"And behold, others he flattereth away, and tellith them there is no hell; and he saith unto them; I am no devil, for there is none-and thus he whispereth in their ears, until he grasps them with his awful chains, from whence there is no diliverance." 2 Nephi 28:22

"And there is a place prepared, yea, even that awful hell of which I have spoken, and the devil is the preparator of it; wherefore the final state of the souls of men is to dwell in the kingdom of God, or to be cast out because of that justice of which I have spoken." 1 Nephi 15:35

"Yea, every knee shall bow, and every tougue confess before him. Yea, even at the last day, when all men shall stand to be judged of him, then shall they confess, that he is God; then shall they confess, who live without God in the world, that the judgement of an everlasting punishment is just upon them; and they shall quake, and tremble, and shrink beneath the glance of his all-searching eye." Mosiah 27:31

"If they be good, to the ressurrection of endless life and happiness; and if they be evil, to the resurrection of the endless damnation, being delivered up to the devil, who hath subjected them, which is damnation." Mosiah 16:11

"And if their works are evil they shall be restored unto them for evil. Therefore, allthings shall be restored to their proper order, every thing to its natural frame-mortality raised to immortality, corruption to incorruption-raised to endless happiness to inferit the kingdom of God, or to endless misery to inherit the kingdom of the devil, the one on one hand, the other on the other- The one raised to happiness according to his desires of happiness, or good according to his desires of good; and the other to evil; for as he has desires of evil; for he has desired to do evil all the days long even so shall he have his reward of evil when the night cometh. And so it is on the other hand. If he hath repented of his sins, and desired righteousness untill the end of his days, even so he shall be rewarded unto righteousness. These are they that are redeemed of the Lord; yea, these are they that are taken out, that are delivered from that endledd night of darkness; and thus they stand or fall; for behold, they are their own judges, whether to do good or do evil. Now, the decree of God are unalterable; therefore, the the way is prepared that whosoever will may walk therein and be saved." Alma 41:4-8

"Now, repentance could not come unto men except there were a punishment, which also was eternal as the life of the soul should be, affixed opposite to the plan of happiness, which was as eternal also as the life of the soul. Alma 42:16

Three Kingdoms in Heaven-Most Saved

Doctrine and Covenants

"Who glorifies the Father, and saves all the works of his hands, except those sons of perdition who deny the Son after the Father has revealed him." D.& C. Section 76:43

"These are they whose bodies are celestial, whose glory is that of the sun, even the glory of God, the highest of all, whose glory the sun of the firmament is written of as being typical. And again, we saw the terrestrial world, and behold and lo, these are they who are of the terrestrial, whose glory differs from that of the church of the Firstborn who have recieved the fulness of the Father, even as that of the moon differs from the sun in the firmament. Behold, these are they who died without the law; And also they who are the spirits of men kept in prison, whom the Son visited, and preached the gospel unto them, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh; Who received not the testimony of Jesus in the flesh, but afterward received it. These are they who are honorable men of the earth, who were blinded by the craftiness of men. These are they who receive of his glory, but not his fulness." D.&. C. 74:70-76

The Bible teaches that hell is a very real place. Jesus himself spoke more about hell while he was here on earth than anyone else throughout the Bible. There is no way to do enough good works to save yourself. "For all have sined and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23 Jesus is the only way to heaven "Jesus answered,"I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me." John 14:6 Jesus paid the price we all owed" For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord " Romans 6:23 He loved you so much that he was willing to die on the cross for YOU. He want you to come to him and ask him for forgiveness and put Him first in your life. I hope you will ask Jesus to come into your life today, he is waiting for you with open arms.

The Bible says:

"And fear not them who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
Matthew 10:28

"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God, and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and hades delivered up the dead that were in them; and they were judged every man according to their works. and death and hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 20: 11-15

"The was of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath."
Proverbs 15:24

"And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained untill this day."
Matthew 11:23

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. And you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.' So you tedtify against yourselves that you are the decendants of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers! "You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?"
Matthew 23:29-33

"But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear; Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him."
Luke 12:5

"And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shall be thrust down to hell."
Luke 10:15

"And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom."
Luke 16:23

"And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites; there shall be weeping and gnashing of theeth."
Matthew 24:51

Will God accept people who are very religious and totally sincere if they are not Christians?

A person can be sincere, but be sincerely wrong. The Bible says there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of it is the way of death (Proverbs 16:25) There are many cases each year when someone jokingly points a gun at someone else, sincerely believing it is empty. The gun goes off and the other individual is killed, with the person pulling the trigger saying, "I didn't know it was loaded." That person might be 100 percent sincere in the fact that he did not want to harm the other individual, but he was sincerely believing something that was not true. Sincerity is not enough, if the object of belief is not true, and all the sincerity in the world will not bring that person who has been shot with the gun back to life. The Apostle Paul teaches that simply practicing religion does not excuse a anyone, but rather it may compound a person's guilt. In examining the pagan's religion, Paul points out that it is a distortion of the truth. He says, "They exchanged the truth of God for a lie" (Romans 1:25,NASB) The glory of God is substituted and replaced by the glory of the creature. Their religion is one of idolatry, and to worship idols is an insult to the dignity of God. This is something God has always detested. "You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God" (Exodus 20:3-5). Thus a religious person has no advantage if he is worshiping the wrong God, no matter how sincere. If a person attempts to get into a movie theater and the price is $4.00, it does not matter whether he has $3.90 or twenth-five cents; he is still short. If someone is believeng the wrong thing, it does not matter how sincere he is, for he is short of what God requires of men to reach Him. God sets the standard, and He will accept only those who come to Him through Jesus Christ. "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 KJV)
