BOWMASTER _ Freda Margaret (nee Nuell) of High River passed away at the High River Nursing Home on February 8, 1998 at the age of 76 years. CHRISTENSEN _ Chester Lewis of Calgary passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on February 8, 1998 at the age of 65 years. Chester will be lovingly remembered by his children, Gordon (Barb), Geoff, Blair (Anita); grandchildren, Sara-Lynn, Whitney, Bridie and Moore; brother Charlie (Rosemary); niece and nephew, Karen and Rick and their families. DAHLEN _ Gladys Dahlen (nee Olson) of Rosebud, Alberta, passed away suddenly at the age of 65 on Friday, February 6, 1998 in a car accident. Gladys is survived by her loving husband of forty-seven years, Rev. GREEN _ James "Jim" Harris Green of Calgary was born February 18, 1952 at Rivers, Manitoba and passed away February 9, 1998, at the age of 45 years, surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife Debbora; daughters, Andrea, Katherine; and son Jonathan; his mother Edythe Howard; sisters, Kaye (Bob) Bysouth, Susan (Gary) Marshall, Joanne (Felix) Asencio and Deb (Craig) Nalder; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Albert Leroy "Jim" Green, and nephews, Trevor Marshall and Shaun Marshall. Jim touched the lives of many people and will be lovingly remembered for his courage, sense of humour, thoughtfulness and work ethic. JOHANSON _ Stig Tore passed away peacefully on February 9, 1998 in Claresholm with family and friends at his side. He is survived by his children, Laurie Windrem, Murray Windrem and Steven Johansson, and his much loved grandsons, Andrew and Tyler Windrem, all of Okotoks. He was predeceased by his parents, Anders and Viktoria, brothers and sisters, Agda, Tyra, Fredrik, Valborg, Mauritz, Ellen, Karl and Harald, all of Sweden, his wife Ida in 1958, and wife Idonna in 1993. Born April 21, 1909 in Torslunda, Sweden, he immigrated to Canada in 1928, settling in southern Alberta where he lived until his passing. He served in Europe as a Sergeant in the Canadian Armed Forces in World War II. A faithful member of the LDS Church, he served a full-time mission in his homeland of Sweden. His smile, quick wit and that "twinkle in his eye" will be missed. "When I leave this frail existence, When I lay this mortal by, Father, Mother, may I meet you In your royal courts on high? Then, at length, when I've completed All you sent me forth to do, With your mutual approbation Let me come and dwell with you." KLEIST _ Arthur (Art) Kleist passed away suddenly at his residence on February 8, 1998 at the age of 67 years. McCORMICK _ Mr. Michael James McCormick Sr. passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 1998 at the Colonel Belcher Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 75 years. Michael was born on October 20, 1922 at his family home at 228 Scarboro Avenue in Calgary. His father Eneas, a Southern Alberta pioneer and Calgary Alderman, founded well-known Riley & McCormick Ltd. Following active service with the RCNVR from 1940 to 1947, Michael had a long and distinguished career beginning as Director of the Vancouver Tourist Bureau in 1949. In 1953, he moved to Montreal to join Vickers & Benson and later Cockfield Brown, before being engaged by CEMP Investments as General Manager. In 1968, he became a Director and Senior Vice-President of the House of Seagram Ltd., and President of the Association of Canadian Distillers. In 1969 he founded McCormick Cattle Company Ltd., beef cattle breeders in Foster, Quebec. In 1970 Michael was Grand Marshall of the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Montreal. He founded Garda Security Services Ltd. in 1973, a prestigious safety and protective security company with offices in Montreal and Toronto. He was received as a Knight of Magistral Grace with the Canadian Association of the Order of Malta in November of 1983. Michael moved to Sechelt on British Columbia's Sunshine Coast in 1985 where he took up writing. His story-telling, wisdom and sense of humour will be missed by everyone who knew him. He will be particularly missed by his sister Mary Guichon, several nieces, nephews, relatives and many, many friends in all corners of the globe. His family extends great thanks to the excellent nurses and doctors at the Colonel Belcher Hospital for the tremendously kind affection he received under their concerned care. Michael is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Gweneth Helen (Garland); their children, Michael Jr., and Daniel, Mary-Helen Landry, Maureen Entwistle, Sheila Waite and Taryn Tannas; their grandchildren, Michael McCormick, Robert and JoAnn Landry, Jennifer Sheila Olson, Catherine, Wendy and Timothy Entwistle, Matthew and Karen Waite, and Mary, Emily, Zachary and Alexander Tannas; and their great-granddaughter Mackenzie Olson.
