Drubble #9

A warm, slightly damp body wrapped in a towel snuggles close to the larger body.

Tom maneuvers the child, still smelling of shampoo into fuzzy jammies.

A rare opportunity, a one on one bedtime.

Stories in the rocking chair.

Kissed skimmed across the top of a head.

Tom rubs his cheek across the soft hair.

Warm breath on his neck.

Limp body sprawled across his chest.

A small hand sleepily pats his cheek.

Eyelids droop and pop back open, only to fall closed again.

The unaccustomed silence is broken only by the soft sounds of music.

And they both sleep.
