Tour of the North Island of New Zealand - January 2003

The Kanes (Martha's parents, her sister Ruth & family and her brother Dan & family) joined we Savages for a twelve day tour. The photos below include scenes from Auckland (where we spent New Year's Eve watching the fireworks erupt from the top of the Sky Tower), Rotorua (where we took the waters in the mineral spas and played petanque in the shadow of English Tudor architecture), Taupo (where some were bold enough to ride the jet boat to Huka Falls), the Coromandel Peninsula (great beaches) and Napier (art deco plus the gannet colony). It was all splendid, particularly as the weather was wonderful and the logistics of the road trip hassle free.
