- Arrowhead Collecting
- Ever since I found an ancient Native American stone projectile point lying in a shallow
creek on my father's property just outside of Hot Springs, Arkansas, I have been intrigued
with these artifacts, and attempt to allocate as much of my free spare time as possible in
my pursuit to locate more of these interesting artifacts. I have gathered a modest
collection of stone projectile points, both from Arkansas, and
now from my present state of resident, Texas. I have
separated out some of my Texas points into new pages for Onion Creek
and Llano River finds. Check out these pages for current
scanned images of finds from these two sites.
- Knapping
- Due to the fact that finding intact stone projectile points and other artifacts can be
exceedingly difficult at times, I have recently become interested in how to replicate
these artifacts using the ancient knapping techniques
employed by the Native Americans. You can view some of my attempts
on this website. I have a library of knapping books,
videos, and artifact books which I utilize to gain a better understanding of Native
American artifacts.
- Science Fiction
- This may seem strange, seeing my above interest in ancient stone tools and implements,
but, I am also fascinated with science fiction stories and movies. Will read just about
anything, or watch any movie dealing with this subject matter. Perhaps you might even
enjoy some of my all time best authors.
- Astronomy
- Another childhood interest in astronomy has lead me to purchase my own Meade 90mm
refractor telescope with which to view the heavens. However, due to work constraints, and
light pollution from the thriving metropolis of San Antiono, TX, I do not get to utilize
this instrument as much as I would like to. Sigh, perhaps one of these days when I retire,
if I ever get the chance to retire. Until then, I will have to be satisfied to view the
best images available from the Hubble Telescope.
- Texas Lotto
- Another of my interests is the Texas Lottery. Although I have not won much, I enjoy
playing the lottery numbers on occasion, and have even written a Visual Basic script page
to generate the Quick Pick numbers for the Pick 6 Lottery. Note: To view Quick Picks VBScript page, you will need
Internet Explorer 3.0 or greater, or Netscape with the ScriptActive plug-in install.
You can find information on all of the winning Texas lottery numbers at the Texas State Comtroller office.
