TALK By Rtn. Dr. Ding Choo Chang
The man with multi talent in reorienting, removing and inserting  parts of  human organ, no other than our very own Dr. Ding who is a General Surgeon in Southern Hospital.  He gave a very interesting and informative talk on a small section of what he does.  Dr Ding pointed out that as a General Surgeon, his scope of work in terms of human body covers from head to toe.  With the aid of image captured in a digital camera Dr. Ding went on with his presentation starting from a common problem associated with thyroid gland in the neck which causes enlargement of this gland and it is known as goiter.  Next down the human body he presented some images of breast cancer which is also gaining "popularity" besides heart attack.  Dr. Ding
mentioned that even man also could acquire breast cancer. (Guys, do your monthly breast...ahemm... chest self examination!)
Further down the body he discussed about the abdomen and presented an image on part of a human stomach, which he removed from one of his patient the day before.  Dr. Ding mentioned something interesting about a tissue around the stomach that in the event of injury on organs in the abdomen, this tissue will mask the injury from spreading.
Proceeding further down the human body he discussed on common disease which is associated with male/female reproductive and urinal organs.  Finally, he discussed about veins which bulges to the surface of skin in human leg.  According to him, this is due to two-way flow of blood and malfunction of valves in the vein.
Dr. Ding promised that in the future he would discuss further on specific topic of interest.
