The Maria Robot by Masudaya comes from Fritz Lang's silent film "Metropolis". Just like the YM-3 and Robby robot models, this also stands 16 inches tall. Unlike the other two models in the series, The Maria model does not speak. There are lights in the base that shine upwards to illuminate the model. I know some were manufactured in 1985 and I have heard more were made in 1997. I have never seen the Maria models, only the 1985 flyer advertising them and a few images on the web. If you go to my wanted page you'll see that this is an item I'm still trying to add to my personal collection.
