Scooby-Doo first appeared in 1969 in "Scooby-Doo. Where are you?" Scooby and the gang are among the longest-running cartoon stars in history. Considering that the cast appeared in various shows up to the 90's. The cast included Freddy, Daphne, Velma, Shappy, and the Great Dane, Scooby-Doo. The gang drove around in their "Mystery Machine" van looking for crimes to solve by exposing ghosts and monsters as not so monsterous at all, just regular crooks. Other characters that appeared later in the shows as constants where Scrappy-Doo, Scooby's hyper active nephew. Scooby-Dum also appeared as Scooby-Doo's cousin who wanted to be a real detective.
