Richardson Seventh-day Adventist Church September 1998 Volume 1 , Issue 1 M&M's Welcome: We are starting this year off excited about bringing Meaningful Messages; that's why we are calling this monthly newsletter M&M's. It's a nonfat, non-caloric form of encouragement. Please savor and enjoy our labor of love. Transitions: Dear Church family, Good-byes are never fun, but that is the intent of this letter. I have taken a call to join Amazing Facts, an evangelistic organization that is proclaiming the three angels’ message around the world. Becky, Josh and I will be one of their ten traveling evangelist teams. Our itinerary will take us from coast to coast and even over seas. We will be living the life of Paul it seems, preaching the gospel and raising up new work in places where God is directing. Our last Sabbath at Richardson will be August 29. I hope you will join us the previous Friday evening for a special Agape feast. Please don’t read into this move anything other than the direct leading of God. We have experienced the best years of our ministry in Richardson. For the last nearly five years we have learned to love and appreciate this church. Our hearts have been enlarged as we have ministered with you, for you, and beside you. We have been ministered to as well by many of you beautiful people. The diverse needs and challenges of this growing church have brought us to our knees many times, but we have never been disappointed that God hasn’t done something great in every instance. The future is bright for Richardson as you look to the next few years: the two worship experiences each Sabbath morning are bringing more and more people into the presence of God in a meaningful way. Our youth and young adults are finding church a top priority in their lives, as they become active in sharing their energy for the cause. Our school continues to grow in number and excellence as new curriculum and attention is given to developing the best learning environment possible for our children, not to mention the marvelous work our women’s ministry is doing for nurture and care of many both in and out of the church. Our tremendous Sabbath school classes and the upcoming evangelistic efforts. All of these ministries have brought a vibrant and exciting environment for good things to keep happening in Richardson. I hope you will consider the House family as missionaries of the Richardson church. We will always be a part of the Richardson family in thoughts and prayers and your prayers for us in the field will be most welcomed. My charge to you is 1Thessalonians 5:12-24. Read it sometime, Paul has summed up the most essential qualities of God’s people expecting to be ready when Jesus comes in these brief verses. I will close by quoting verses 23 & 24: "May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May Your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it. "Be sure dear Saints, the One who called you to follow Him "is faithful" and whatever needs to be done in and through your life "He will do it!" That’s a promise. Rest in this assurance, live like He is doing it and be ready at every crossroad to follow is leading. Jesus is coming. Let’s join Him in one grand chorus to reach the harvest of people waiting to know Him wherever He leads. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, Pastor Ray . |
