Welcome To Helen's Garden!

In life's garden, kindness is the sweetest flower.

Helen is a long-time friend of my Mom's, who we visited in North Carolina in June '99, on our way to the Blueridge Parkway. She was there for our family many times - when I was a gimp and when we really needed her, like when my father passed away and my brother passed away. A true and lovely friend - hard to find and such a lovely garden! For all those years I have known Helen, I never visited her back garden and did not know of it's existence! I think her garden reflects all the giving she does and love she brings to all. Here are a few pictures I took on this visit, starting with her park-like garden around her home and ending with the back garden.

Poppies

The story of the poppies is quite endearing - poppy seeds were given to Helen when we lived in England (on Poppy Road in Princes Risborough, Bucks) from 1989 through 1994. These poppies grew in Helen's back garden which I did not know about and Helen gave me the seed pods during this visit and now we will have our English poppies at our new home in Florida (they have already sprouted!)
