Im not done typeing it its pretty huge but instead of making you
wait until Im done heres what I have so far.
If you hang out with 7th Heaven star Jessica Biel when she's not working, sooner
or later, you'll end up at a soccer game. Jessica loves soccer and she's
good at it, really good. Since she spends so much time away from her native
Boulder Colorado working on the set of 7th Heaven, there was never any question that
she'd have to find a team to play for on the L.A. area. And this
girl plays. Jessica's quick and powerful- one of those presences on the feild that
you constantly find your eye drawn to. She plays midfielder, the players who control
the game-the quaterbacks of soccer who set up plays, distribute the ball, run
the transition game, and, have to be in great shape because they play both
offense and defense.
It makes a lot of sense that Jessica like soccer- she's totally athletic and
likes to compete, but in a really, really healthy way. She's all about pushing
her self while at the same time being a totalt team player.(When we asked
to send a photagrapher to her game she insisted we publish a picture of
the whole team.) "I like to test myself and push myself, and doing
that
together with your teammates is the best. You get to love your teammates in
a way, because you're out there working so hard together and helping eachother. Even
the girls youre playing against, in a way are helping you do your best."
["I must have been havingsome kind of Zen soccer moment when i said that!"
she said later.]
Besides her love for soccer, Jessica is really good at, well most things, including
volleyball and basketball, and she's a rippin' snowboarder. She's a star on a great
show, totally great athlete, totally gorgeous-no way she's a real or nice person too,
huh? Yep, she is.
Your truly was supposed to hang out with Jessica Biel on this particular Sunday
afternoon. By the time I got to the door of the third floor apartment
her family stays in when she needs to be in L.A. tapeing episodes, I was
totally nervous-my heart was beating, the whole deal. Oh well, i knocked on
the door. "Hi i'm Jess." That was it. In an instant, thinkgs compleatly changed
from what they had been in my mind. Nervousnes, gone. Anticipation, over. A totally
normal 15-year-old girl had opened the door in a comfy sweatshirt and with
like no makeup on, invited me in, and we were just like good freinds with-in
minutes.
Jessica had been shooting episodes of 7th Heaven all week, had just shot the cover
of Teen and yesterday the cover of JUMP, so she was psyched to just
hang on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Mostly we just laughed, listened to CD's, looked
at personal snapshots, and talked about all kinds of stuff in between taking shots
with our photo crew, And. she was totally cool about answering dumb questions about
what it's like to be on TV and all that-all with out even a
single bit of pretense or im-so-great-ness. Rather then me telling you about
it heres stuff right off the tape. You'll notice that she asks allot of questions,
too. that's just her way. She'd be totally uncomfortable with us sitting around just
talking about her.
Jess:Where'd you grow up?
Me: Carlsbad, it's 40 min. north of San Diego
Jess: Cool. Is it like desert?
Photographer: Jess, can we check out your bedroom for a shot later?
Jess: sure, go for it. Sorry.
Me: and yyour from Boulder right?
Jess: yeah, Colorado
Me: We almost moved there once
Jess: really? oh my gosh i love it thereso much...it's such a nice town.
Me: So whats it like living here?
Jess: well, I miss Boulder a lot. I miss the snow. It's so hot here. Your'e
probably used to it. It'd be the same for you if you moved there.
Me: I know I'd be like "it's so cold"[laughter. We were basicily cracking up a lot of the time]
Jess: i mean, I think it can be tough whenever you move away from
home. It takes getting used to...
Me: what's it like on 7th Heaven? Im so curious!
Jess: It's really cool and it's really fun. It's like a huge family, i mean
everyone is so close.
So we were hanging out for a little while when one of Jess's friends
stops by. It's Andrew Keegan. He walksin the door and the whole room lights up. He's got a smile that goes from ear to ear and introdices himself as if we'd been friends for years. Then Jess has to go do a quick shot with the photographer, So I hang with Andrew-not all bad
Me: Ive seen you a ton on 7th Heaven, my friends and I all watch it.
Andrew: cool. Yeah, I did 7th Heaven this year with Jessica. I play the single-father-boyfreind guy...[we laugh] He's nice though.
