Rando's Note: This leap took place over the course of a week, ending on July 15. Since the middle part has its own very specific topic, I have put it in its own area.

susanne's sida. This is the homepage of Susanne Pressfeldt, who lives in Sweden with her husband and five children, ages 15 to 2. On her page she has some beautiful graphics and links to pages by (or at least for) each of her children. She has just returned to work after being home for 3 years and tells us that in Sweden, she was able to stay home with 80% of her salary for a year after each of her children. Nice system. Obviously a very nice person.

Dar's page of Homepages. Darlene Cole is a housewife, mother of 2 teenagers, and part time bartender. She enjoys web surfing and visiting home pages. Who else do I know like that? She has made it her point to learn as much as she could about computers (repair, etc.) as well. She created all her own backgrounds and graphics (mostly with a flower motif). She also has some background sets to give away as well. A quick glance of her lists of pages brings me no recognition offhand, but I'm sure we "know" some of the same people.

This site is webmastered by Charmaine Malleri, who is busy reconstructing a site that had previously been deleted. She is twelve and a half, and in 8th grade at Isaac Newton Junior High School in Winnipeg. Her family is originally from Manila. She writes poetry, and the site is full of WebRings, Asian links and animated gifs. She has last updated 3 days ago, so it's pretty up to date. This is a very web-savvy young person.

Christine is probably about Charmaine's age. She lives in Southside of Houston and gives us her likes, dislikes, and shout-outs to all her friends. She has that annoying habit of AlTeRnaTINg beTWEen CapS and LOWer caSe, which makes things difficult to read, so I'll spare the reader that here. Otherwise, basically a cute site.

ESCAPE -- THA AZIAN RING

Michael's Absurd Web Page. Michael Chih Ming Hornbuckle is "the weirdest person around" by his own accounts. He is on the staff of Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University and is an actor/writer with "The 18 Mighty Mountain Warriors," the "world's most suicidal Asian American Skit comedy group." I'm using a lot of quotes here because Michael writes it so well himself. This is a large site and makes for really good reading, which I fully intend to do.

ESCAPE -- LINK TO FRIEND'S WEBSITE

The Mareciless Universe. This site, titled "evil with a purpose" is a minimalist site which is updated almost daily. "Mare", as Michael (above) calls her, does not even attempt to tell anything about herself. She links to a huge number of friends' personal pages. Very offbeat and funky; an almost anti-website. Very refreshingly different.

7/9 ESCAPE -- RING AROUND THE WUSS WEBRING

The Leaper enters to some really cool animation. This is, according to the Webmaster, "Basically a place with stuff about me, animated GIFs, Flash content, a Quizlet and recommended links to cool sites." In this case, the "me" is Gary Ong, almost 20, from Singapore. He is about to serve in the National Service at the Singapore Armed Forces after having just graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, studying business. Truly a cool and differntly set up site.

ESCAPE -- SHOCKED RING (Shockwave Sites)

Tal Org. This website is run by Kaj-Michael Wolter Lang, age 21 in Luvia, Finland, where he is now studying Computer Science. We get to see every angle of Mr. Lang, from a "spinning" gif of himself. He is into the writings of L.M. Montgomery and collecting old computers. A special feature here is a discussion of whether or not Tori Amos uses the Force (from Star Wars!).
