Family of Emory W. Treadway (of William Butler, Daniel, Daniel, Richard, Richard)

     Emory W. Treadway born 03 May 1851 in Union Co., North Carolina.  He married twice.  He married first to Margaret Hazeltine Woodward on 23 December 1825.  Margaret was the daughter of Joseph Hatcher Woodward and Sarah R. Traywick. Emory and Margaret's children were:

1. Marley Treadway, b: ca 1823
2. William Festus Treadway, b: 18 Aug 1877
3. Joseph Julius Treadway, b: 18 Aug 1881
4. Ada Treadway, b: 23 Dec 1885
5. Leola Treadway, b: 07 Jun 1889

     Emory married second to Alice Hinson. Emory died on 20 June 1928 (Thank you Jerry Grugin and Carl Lazenby, and others for information). They had one child:

     Easter Lucinda Treadway born 1866 in Union Co., North Carolina.  She married George William Strawn.  George was born in 1867 in North Carolina.  Their family was listed in the 1900, 1910, and 1920 Marshville, Union Co., North Carolina Census records.  Their children were:

Family of Alexander H. Treadaway (of Wade Hampton, Daniel, Daniel, Richard, Richard)

     Alexander Hampton Treadaway born on 10 Apr 1859 in Alabama, married Nancy Emaline Wright on 12 March 1894,  Nancy was born on 18 October 1864 in Alabama.  Their family was listed in the 1900 North River, Fayette Co., Alabama Census records.  Alexander died on 09 April 1901.  Nancy and her family were listed in the 1910 North River Twp., Fayette Co., Alabama Census records.  She was living with her son "Tink" and his family in the 1920 North River Twp., Fayette Co., Alabama Census records.  Nancy died on 30 December 1938. They both are buried in the Studdards Crossroads Cemetery, Fayette Co., Alabama. Thank you John Hudson for the information on this family. Their children were:

     Andrew Jackson Treadaway born 1865 in Illinois, married Orpha Orlena Studdard on 25 July 1886 in Fayette Co., Alabama.  Orpha was born in 1866 in Alabama the daughter of David and Mary Studdard.   Andrew was a Post Master. Their family was listed in the 1900 Fayette Co., Alabama Census records.  Orpha was listed with her family in the 1910 George Creek Twp., Fayette Co., Alabama Census records.  Their children were:

Family of Nancy Louise Treadaway (of Charles Leo, Arthur, Daniel, Richard, Richard)

     Nancy Louise Treadaway born 21 January 1850 in Henderson Co., North Carolina, married James Jasper Cullum on 22 February 1873 in Van Buren Co., Arkansas.  James was born on 29 May 1850 in Van Buren Co., Arkansas, the son of William J. Cullum and Eliza Pressley.  Their family was listed in the 1880 Griggs, Van Buren Co., Arkansas Census.  James and Nancy must have been both married previously, as James had a son Elbert A. Cullum, and Nancy had a daughter Mary A. Martin, both living with them in that same census.  Nancy died on 24 January 1942, and James died on 24 March 1934, both in Van Buren Co., Arkansas.  Please let me know who contributed this wonderful information.  Their children were:

     James Blye Treadaway born 03 January 1851 in North Carolina, married Mary Ellen Jackson.  Mary was born ca 1854 in Mississippi, the daughter of Lemuel Jackson and Lee Pate.  James and his family were listed in the 1880 Muddy Bayou, Falkner Co., Arkansas Census, and the 1900 DeRoche, Hot Springs Co., Arkansas Census records.   James died on 27 July 1921 in Hot Spring, Arkansas.  Their children were (Children's birthdates from LDS files):

     Samuel Benjamin Treadaway born 1852 in North Carolina, married twice.  He married first to Abigail Bradford/Goodin on 25 December 1870 in Van Buren Co., Arkansas. Abigail was born ca 1855 in Arkansas, the daughter of Nancy Goodin.  Samuel was listed in the 1880 Griggs, Van Buren Co., Arkansas Census, and the 1900 Choctaw, Van Buren Co., Census records.  His brother Andrew Jackson was also living with him.  Benjamin and Abigail's children were:

Mary was listed in the 1900 Stone Twp., Faulkner Co., Arkansas Census (unreadable for children), and the 1910 Union Twp., Faulkner Co., Arkansas Census records. Their children were:

     Eliza J. Treadaway born ca 1858 in Van Buren Co., Arkansas, married Thomas Jefferson Fudge on 06 August 1874 in Faulkner Co., Arkansas.  Thomas was born on 08 February 1856 in Mississippi, the son of Jacob Fudge and Mary Porter.  Their family was listed in the 1880 Griggs, Van Buren Co., Arkansas Census.   Eliza died on 04 March 1898, and Thomas died on 16 October 1900, both in Yell Co., Arkansas.  Their children were:

     Joseph Sarl Treadaway born 10 March 1862 in Van Buren Co., Arkansas, married twice.  He married first to Amanda J. "Florida" ____ Bearden on 20 September 1885 in Faulkner Co., Arkansas.  Florida was born 28 May 1852 in Arkansas.  Florida was married previously to James Bearden.  Their family was listed in the 1900, 1910 Matthews, Faulkner Co., Arkansas Census records.
