     Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Little Planter of the County of Burke and State of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds current and lawful money of said state to me in hand paid by Joseph Brown Planter of the county of Buncombe and State of North Carolina at and Before the sealing and Signing of these presents the receipt and payment whereof I do hereby acknowledge For myself and my heirs do hereby bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto him the said Joseph Brown his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land in the County of Buncombe and State of North Carolina Containing Two hundred acres situate lying and being as follows on both sides of Bull Creek Beginning at a pine on the East side of said crick below the forks and runs, North Five degrees West two hundred and fifty poles crossing on a fork of said Creek to a Spanish oak on a ridge in the forks of said Creek then South eighty five degrees West one hundred and Twenty Eight poles crossing the other fork of said Creek To a white oak and sourwood on the bank of a branch thence South five degrees East Two hundred And fifty three poles to a Stake thence North Eighty five degrees East crossing the Creek to the beginning which said piece or parcel of land with all ways woods waters and every other appurtenances thereunto belonging or appertaining. I hereby for myself my heirs executor and administrators sold set over conveyed released and confirmed in open market to the said Joseph Brown and his heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby for myself my heirs Executors and Administrators covenant and promise to and with the Said Joseph Brown his heirs Executors administrators & assigns that I and my heirs executors and Administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend the said piece or parcel of land with all every of its members

     To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting. Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of thirty shillings for every hundred acres here by granted paid into our treasury by Joseph Brown have

given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said Joseph Brown a tract of land containing fifty acres lying and being in the County of Buncombe on the West side of Bull Creek. Beginning at Joseph Browns North West Corner formerly Thomas Lytles on the bank of a branch on a white oak Sour wood and Black Oak Then running due West by Thomas Davidson's land forty poles to a Spanish Oak and Black Oak. Thence running due South one hundred and seventy one poles by John G. Blount's land to a stake. Thence running due East by said Blount's land fifty four poles to a stake on the line of the land that was formerly Lytles. Then running on said line North five degrees West one hundred and seventy two poles to the beginning crossing some small branches the waters of Bull Creek as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods, waters, mines, minerals, hereditaments, and appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining to hold to the said Grantee his heirs and assigns for ever. Yielding and paying to us such sums of money yearly or other wise as our General Assembly from time to time may direct provided always that the said grantee shall cause this grant to be registered in the Registers Office of our said County of Buncombe with in twelve months from the date other wise the same shall be void and of no effect in testimony whereof we have caused these our letters to be made patent and Our Great seal to be hereunto affixed - Witness Samuel Ashe, Esquire, Our Governor, Captain General and Commander in Chief at Raleigh the 17th day of October in the 21st year of our Independence and in the year

     This indenture made this seventeenth day of March one thousand seven hundred and ninety seven between Joseph Brown of the one part and Thomas Rogers of the other part both of the County of Buncombe and State of North Carolina witnesseth that the said Joseph Brown for and in the consideration of the sum of fifty pounds to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge,hath granted, bargained, confirmed, and do so by these presents grant, bargain, sell, confirmed and sold and do by these presents grant, bargain, sell, confirm unto the said Thomas Rogers, his heirs and assigns for ever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being on the West side of Bull Creek and in the County of Buncombe. Thence running due East by said Blounts land fifty four poles to a stake on the lines of the land that was formerly Lyttle's, Then running on said line North five degrees West one hundred and seventy poles to the beginning, containing fifty acres which Tract or parcel of land together with and all every of the appurtenances thereto belonging to the said Thomas Rogers, his heirs, Executors, Administrators, and assigns for ever will warrant and defend as an indefeasible inheritance in fee simple.      This indenture made and concluded this 29th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and one between Joseph Brown of the State Tennessee and Montgomery County of the one part and Thomas Alexander of the State of North Carolina and Buncombe County of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of sixty dollars current money to me in hand paid by Thomas Alexander of the County of Buncombe and State of North Carolina at and before the sealing and signing of these presents the receipt and payment where I have by acknowledged for myself my heirs do hereby bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto him the said Thomas Alexander his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land in the County of Buncombe and State of North Carolina situate lying and being as follows: On both sides of Bull Creek beginning on a spanish oak on a ridge in the forks of the said Creek on the East side of said Creek then running South eighty five degrees West crossing the other fork of the Creek one hundred and twenty eight poles to a white oak and a sour wood on the bank of a small branch thence South five degrees East sixty two poles thirteen links to a stake on the old line then on the dividing line North eighty five degrees East crossing the Creek one hundred and twenty eight poles to a stake on the old line then on the old line to the Beginning Containing fifty acres of land which said piece or parcel of land with all ways woods waters and ever other appurtenance thereunto belonging or appertaining I have hereby for myself my

     By virtue of Entry No 10291 dated March 3rd, 1813 and founded on a Military Warrant No 140 for 274 acres I have Surveyed for Joseph Brown assignee originally of the Heirs of James Shivers Twenty acres of land in Williamson County on the East side of Turnbull Creek Beginning at a White oak near the banks of a Branch, thence West Sixty Nine poles to two White oaks and Dogwoods on James Norris's East boundary of his four acre Entry, thence South passing said Norris's South East Corner of three poles and in all forty six and one third poles to two Black oaks, thence East Sixty nine poles to two White oaks and Dogwoods, thence North forty six and one third poles to the Beginning include said Brown's improvement.
