Welcome to my Ranma1-2 Multimedia Page!!

Hello!! And welcome to my Ranma1-2 Multmedia Page!! Here you will find many movies, and music!!Enjoy!!!!!

So can't get enough or Ranma 1/2 or maybe just curious to see what all the hype is all about? Well here are some movie clips (MOV format) that you should check out! All the clips are intros to various Ranma 1/2 series in Japanese, so they contain really good theme songs as well as great art! I highly recommend each one, but some more than others. I gave ratings for each clip with stars, a maximium of four being the best, so you have an opinion on which ones to get first if you aren't going to get them all (sure, getting them all may sound quite a crazy thing to do, but like Lay's potato chips, you can't just have one. =) ). Due to the video clips' large sizes they may be hard to obatin. However I think your time will be well spent (unless your internet provider charges by the hour! =) ) if you decide to download any of these. The majority of these movies were recorded in 320X240 resolution in millions of colors with a sound quality of 16-bit 22kHz mono (excellent audio/visual quality).

TV Intros and other videos

Ranma 1/2 Special Opening (DoCo 1-2) (24.7 megs) - **** - One of my favorite openings - catchy theme song too!

Ranma 1/2 Special Ending (DoCo 2-1) (28.5 megs) - *** - Christmas related clip - it's fairly long (hence the huge file size), but the video has a flying panda so it's alright then.

Ranma 1/2 Video Game Trailer (4.7 megs) - ** - Shows the intro for a Ranma 1/2 video game while playing the japanese TV intro 1 song (Yappappa...).

Ranma 1/2 TV Intro 1 (20.6 megs) - ** - The first Ranma 1/2 intro(?) for the series(every new season has new openings - I think). The intro music should sound familiar to anyone who has seen Ranma 1/2.

Ranma 1/2 TV Intro 2 (20 megs)- **** - Another one of my favorites - contains appearances of many of the main characters too.

Ranma 1/2 TV Intro 3 (19.7 megs) - *** -

Ranma 1/2 TV Intro 4 (17.5 megs) - *** - Pretty interesting intro - looks like it was done with some finger painting. Contains a very catchy theme song too.

Ranma 1/2 TV Intro 5 (19.1 megs) - *** - Another interesting intro (I don't mean that in a bad way).

Ranma 1/2 TV Intro 6 (19 megs) - **** - I really like this one! The theme song that goes with this has to be the best one out of the bunch!

Ranma 1/2 TV Intro 7 (19.6 megs) - ** -

Full versions of the DoCo Music Videos

The following DoCo music videos are all great! The art is especially good on these DoCo clips but they are drawn a bit differently. All of these files are quite big, but they are definately worth the download. All of the following are 320X240 video clips in millions of colors with sound in 16-bit at 22kHz. What should all this jargon mean? Translation: these are pretty nice looking/sounding video clips.

Ranma 1/2 DoCo music video 1-3 (31.2 megs) - **** - Music video for Ranma DoCo Track 3 - Akai Kutsu no SUNDAY [Red Shoe Sunday]. If there were only one reason to get this, it would be to see Shampoo and her blimp.

Compact versions of the DoCo Music Videos

The MOV files here are basically the same as the full sized DoCo videos except they are considerably smaller in size. Although they aren't quite small in size (from 3-7 megs in size), they are a lot easier to download. The difference between these files from the full sized ones are that these are 1/4 the picture size (160 X 120 X millions) and have a 8-bit 11kHz sound. These compact versions of the full doco clips are actually of pretty decent quaity.

Ranma 1/2 MP3 TV intro/outro music files

Here are links to some MP2 audio files of the different Ranma 1/2 openers and closings from the TV series (each season had a different intro/outro song). Each of the files have been recorded in CD like quality (128kbit/sec stream), so these songs sound VERY good. They are also the full versions of the songs (what's heard on TV) so that makes them even better. So what the heck do these songs actually mean in English? Click here to see the English translations of a few Ranma 1/2 songs! Oh yeah, I also used a four star rating system as I did in the movies. As you see, all of the songs are either 3 or 4 stars.

Ranma 1/2 MP3 DoCo Music files

All of the following songs are tracks from the Ranma 1/2 Best of DoCo Collection CD (consists of both DoCo First and DoCo Second CDs). This CD contains, in my opinion, the best Ranma 1/2 songs. Most of the songs have an upbeat tempo that all sound great, but all the songs sound great! All the following MP3s are recorded at 128kbit/sec from a 16-bit Stereo 44.1kHz stream (close to CD quality). Although, if you do happen to stumble across the CD in a store, I would recommend in buying it!

Ranma 1/2 Best of DoCo track 12 (5.4 megs) - *** - Koi ga Hitotsu Kiete Shimatta no [Love Vanished Once (Regrettably)] - One of the few DoCo songs that has a slower tempo, but like ALL the DoCo songs, its good. Temporary alternate file location.

Some Useful Stuff

Need an MP2/MP3 audio player? Click here to get a MP2/MP3 player!

Need a MOV player? I've found Apple's Quicktime movie viewer to be one of the best in its class. To find it, go to Apple's QuickTime Home Page. You should find a version there for both PCs and Macs. You might also notice that some of these files have the extensions GZ. This is just another compressed format, like ZIP. An extremely good program which decomresses these type of files (as well as a plethora of other compressed formats) is called WinZip. Go to the WinZip home page to find out more info or to download the program.

MPEG audio file (MP2/MP3) info

My knowledge of MP2 and MP3 files isn't that great. But what I do know is that they are near CD quality audio files that use complex algorithms to achieve ULTRA small file sizes(in comparison to WAV files). MP2 files are compressed with a 1:6 size ratio and MP3 are 1:10 (when recorded at 16-bit/stereo/44.1kHz) when compared to WAV files. The ratios increase even more when recorded originally at a lower sound quality. That is a huge difference in size, and best of all, the MPEG files sound great! Need a MP2/MP3 player? Well, all you really need is a decently fast computer (Pentium class+) and a sound card. Here are some links to audio MPEG player related files:

The following files are just a few that I liked of anime other than Ranma 1/2. Check them out if you're interested.

Tenchi Muyo! TV Movie Intro (avi format) (14.5 megs) - Cool Tenchi Muyo! TV series opener (full version of the song is listed above).

tenchi-op.zip - 4.0 megs : Tenchi Muyo! TV intro - full version! - A very good upbeat song! Get it!

Tenchi Muyo! OAV Movie Intro (mov format) (12.5 megs) - Cool Tenchi Muyo! OAV opener.
