November Rain:

WOW! This is one of the best Guns N' Roses song. This is with this song that i discovered Guns n' Roses; not in 1992 but in 1996! I heard it on the radio and i fell in love with this song. Of course it was not the first time i listened to it, i remember in 1992 everytime the video was on TV i was always watching it but in 1996 i really realized how amazing that song was.

Some people say that this song is too long! No way! This song is way too short. I love long songs like this one. I like the piano intro, the lyrics, the 2 beautiful guitar solos and the last part of the song too! That song was over 20 minutes long when GNR started playing it together before recording the final version! The video too is good. This song is the best song of Use Your Illusion 1 in my opinion. But don't Damn Me & Coma too are among my favorites. In short, November Rain is one of the best rock n' roll song ever and it's long !!!

Don't Cry:

This is a GREAT song! And this is a good idea to listen to this song LOUD! Especially during the Slash solo. Yes, this song is a great Guns N' Roses song. There is two version of this song (one on UYI 1 and another on UYI 2). I prefer the original version in general but i like the UYI 2 version too. Especially when Axl is singing :"And when you're in need of someone, my heart won't deny you. So many seem so lonely with no one left to cry to baby..." On the CD single there is also a third version that is really interesting too! the music is different in this one and the lyrics are like the original version, But he adds some cool lyrics during the solo. But Don't Cry was not a new song when it came out in 1991. It was actually the first song that GNR wrote as a band! There is some older version on bootlegs and they are really emotionnal, i just love this raw and unpolished sound.

The Garden:

This song is on UYI 1 and Alice Cooper sings on it; He fits perfectly in the GNR kind of music. It's very good. In my opinion, all the parts of the song are good: when Axl sings, when A. Cooper sings and the Slash solo is GREAT, the slide guitar as well.

Double Talkin' Jive:

Ok, This song is great on the album UYI 1 but.... Live versions of this song are AWESOME. Always!!! The UYI 1 version is great and i like the little accouctic guitar solo very very much. But this is really one of the best live GNR song; live the intro is really powerful, the lyrics are great and after that Slash start a guitar solo that usually last 5-9 minutes then he usually plays a little voodoo child to introduce Civil war. One of the best example is not hard to find, on the official UYI video live in Tokyo, one of the coolest versions of the song i've heard! It makes you realize how unbelievable Slash is as a guitarist!
"Double talkin' LIES! No more patience,,,man... You dig...what i'm saying?"

Sweet Child O'Mine:

I think that everybody will agree here: Sweet Child O'Mine is one of the best Guns N' Roses songs. This song is just perfect! And the the 3 guitar solos are so beautiful (the last part of the 3rd solo is awesome! Only Slash can play like this!) This is because of that song that i bought "Appetite For Destruction. The video too is great but that really SUCKS that they cut some parts in the intro and the second slash solo. I love Sweet Child O'Mine so much! And how about Axl's voice on that one? perfect! Duff also plays a super cool bass intro.

Used To Love Her:

This is my favorite "GN'R Lies" song besides "Patience". Guns N' Roses can make great accoustic songs! This song is a little bit short but i like it a lot. And it's funny! Not too complicated to play either. Except the solos that i will leave for the professionals like Slash. the second guitar solo of that song is so fast... And how about the version from the live album "Live Era"? isn't that cool to hear such a fantastic version played on electric guitar? Great rock n' roll!

Locomotive:

This is a great song too. I like at the end of the song, when Axl is singing "Love's so strange", the guitar part: it really sounds like a locomotive! And this is not only a very good song, this is a long one. The intro absoluteley kicks ass and then Axl start singing and this song is very powerful, then just after this great line: "if love is blind i guess i'll buy myself a cane"! Everything becomes very peaceful and the last part is just amazing. This is the kind of song that could last 1 hour! Too bad it's so hard to find a good live version of it, the sound quality is usually bad... I've never seen slash playing it on a video either :-(
But this song will always be one of the very very very best GNR song ever. Axl and Slash, what a wonderful songwriting duo.

Since I don't have you:

The first track of "The Spaghetti Incident" is good but not excellent. I hate the end of the song... those little keyboards sounds are not really useful! But the rest of the song is good. After hearing it so many times i am a little bit tired of it but it's still a good and interesting track.

Knockin' on Heaven's Door:

This song is very good on Use Your Illusion 2. But live versions of Knockin' on Heaven's Door are so great, it was always one of the highlights of a typical GNR show!!! This is so good on The Tokyo video (the second solo is very long and is absolutely great. But this is nothing compared to the Chicago 1992 version!! AAHH! The best solo ever! Slash did this little miracle with the guitar below). And i have an unplugged version too and it's as great as the Tokyo version, with a great slash solo and a really good piano solo. "Ladies and Gentlemen, on the piano, Mr. Dizzy Reed." But on the album the voice of Axl is so amazing and the sound of the guitar is more than perfect. Clapton tried to cover that song and the result was a little bit lame, but Guns n' Roses definitely did an outstanding job with it!

Dust N' Bones:

It took me a while to really enjoy that song but now i love it. Izzy's great and When Axl join him for the chorus that's the best! Slash use his talk box to create cool sounds with his guitar. Live Era is featuring a live version of this and it really was one of the best surprise of the CD! I loved it. And did you notice Slash screaming his part just before the solo? He's cool!!!!!!!!!!!

Estranged:

This is not complicated to describe this song: This is the best rock n' roll song ever!. This song is my favorite one! This song is divided in 3 parts: The first part is great with beautiful guitar melodies. The second part is an excellent piano solo and i like it so much. And the last part of the song is as great as the 2 first parts. And the guitar solos are soooo gooooood! This is the greatest song! I heard a couple of live versions but i think that no one is as great as the album version. After listening to such a great song, the only thing you can say is that Axl and Slash are the best! Axl wrote all the piano and lyrics and then Slash picked a guitar and achieved this miracle. I've never heard a similar song and as Gilby Clarke said, slash kinda re-invented the rock n' roll guitar that day! It's unique. I knew this song was something big during the first seconds that i listened to it when i got my Use Your Illusion 2 album. I can't describe it really, just play it and enjoy the masterpiece!

Rocket Queen:

Oh! Rocket Queen! I LOVE this song! The last part of the song is so great; in fact it's possibly the best 3 minute part in the rock history!! And Rocket Queen is very good on the Tokyo video concert: there is a lot of energy on this interpretation and slash solos are great (as usual). And how about this super cool riff during the transition? Whoa! On Live Era Slash gives me goosebumps when he start using the talkbox after the slide guitar solo.

Breakdown:

This is a great Guns N' Roses song. I like that kind of song. I really like the banjo and the begining of the song and the Slash's solos too. Axl's voice is so sweet and it's one of the 3 big masterpieces of UYI 2 (with estranged and Locomotive).

You ain't the First:

Hey, i like this song! Some people said that it sucks! I like it a lot. OK, this is not the greatest song on UYI 1 but it's a good little song and it's different. Guns N' Roses can make a lot of very different songs and this one is more "country" and i like it! Variety is always good.

Dead Horse:

Dead horse was one of my first favorites on Use Your illusion 1. It's a song full of energy and Axl's voice is great on it; wonderful i should say. When i'm happy and i want to stay happy, i put my UYI 1 CD on the CD player and i listen to Dead Horse very loud! The Slash solo is great!

Yesterdays:

This is not my favorite UYI 2 song but it's good! I know that some people love that one much more than me.

One in a Million:

This is a great song and i really like the accoustic guitar solo on it One in a million is a great song! And all the stupid people who are saying this is a song against black people or homosexuals in general didn't understand anything! If Axl was a racist he would not share the spotlight with a guitarist that is half black! Now suddently in year 2000 Axl Rose wants to REMOVE this song from the future pressings of the "GNR LIES" CD!?!?!? WHAT THE HELL AND WHAT THE FUCK!?!? Axl don't do that! WHY? You were always THE one to defend that song and to explain it and i just loved this attitude that you had to say "fuck you" to those who didn't understand even if it was very clear that the lyrics were not racist or anything like that. You used insulting words against some specific people, not against black people in general. You always had the good attitude about it and now suddently you want to remove that? That's stupid! Removing a track from an album is stupid. especially such a good and famous track. People likes it. And the fact of removing it will not change anything because people will remember the song anyway. All you will do with it is to punish the fans. I am totally TOTALLY against it and this song should STAY on the album and i would not delete it just because some people could misinterpret the lyrics. I love one in a million and LIES without it is not LIES.

Paradise City:

I think that Paradise City is my second favorite Guns N' Roses song! This song is very beautiful and energetic. I really love the begining of the song and the last part of the song too (The fast part, this is excellent! Slash is totally crazy during those last 2 minutes.). And the song is also great in concert. A good way to end a long Guns N' Roses show, by releasing all this energy in a big adrenaline rush. "Oh! Won't you please take me home, yeah!" Definitely top 5 GNR song ever

Bad Apples

Bad Apples is great! I really love the track #14 of Use Your illusion 1. My favorite part of the song is when Axl sings "When the shit hits the fan... ...Why let just one bad apple spoil the whole damn bunch". And the piano is too much good on this Guns N' Roses song!!! In fact, all the songs on UYI 1 are very, very great! Slash has a magic touch on that one. I recommend this song to all the guitarists because it's cool to play. "BOY!"

Coma:

Mmmm! I love Coma! It's so POWERFUL!!! Okay it took me a while to really appreciate that one but now i'm totally obsessed with it! Hearing it live and playing the main riff on guitar made me love it even more. Definitely one of the best. Awesome music written by Slash and then Axl wrote the amazing lyrics to achieve this masterpiece, the longest GNR song. I just love this song; the ending is the best. That's not a normal song, there is something strong in this.

Nightrain:

There is so many great songs on "Appetite For Destruction"! And Nightrain is one of my favorites on this famous album. This is so good, I'm always ready to listen to that song and what about the guitar solo at the end of the song huh?....WOW it's too short! "I love that stuff" and "I can never get enough"!

Back Off Bitch:

When i bought my first CD called "Use Your Illusion 1" it was for November Rain. When i heard Don't Cry i realized that i knew that song but Back Off Bitch was the first "new" Guns N' Roses song that i fell in love with. This is a cool song, very energic, i like it so much! The intro is great, Matt is doing a great job on the drums. And, as usual, Slash is awesome on guitars and Axl is so great on vocals! This song has been written before the release of Appetite (just like don't cry, bad obsession, november rain, you could be mine...) "Hey! what d'ya think he's tryin' to say there anyway?"

Sentimental Movie:

This song can't be found on a regular Guns N' Roses album, it's an unreleased song. Axl doesn't sing on this one. It's Duff and Slash! Yes, Slash! And Slash's voice is not bad at all! This is a great song but there is no "real" drums on it (It's a drum machine). But the guitar is really good, especially the solo and at the end of the song, it's such an emotionnal playing by Slash, it's sad that most of the fans don't know that song. I am glad i have it on CD! (i have it on 2 or 3 of my CDs in fact!)

Civil War:

Very cool song! The first track of Use Your Illusion 2 is a great song. I love the intro of the song, with the accoustic guitar and the whistling and also the end of the song with this piano. Great lyrics too. I don't know what else to say, i just love this song! This song came out in 1990. So the fans knew that some amazing albums were coming soon! And i like the rain & thunder at the end of the song! "What's so civil about war anyway?"

Get In The Ring:

Hey, it's a good song! Very energetic. Great guitars on this song! But it's not the kind of song that you will hear on the radio!!! Because of the lyrics. But the music is really GREAT very great.

Perfect Crime:

This one is a very fast song. And it's really good. I like this song a lot, it's full of energy, and slash is so good! Did you hear that solo? I like everything he plays!

Sympathy For The Devil:

This song is the last song that Guns N' Roses released. It's not on one of their five albums, it's on the soundtrack of the movie "Interview with the vampire". And, if you don't already know it, it's a song written by the Rolling Stones. The Guns N' Roses version is really good! Better than the original in my opinion but not so different. The Stones' version has more piano and less guitars; both version are wonderful though, i love the Stones and you probably like them too. GN'R version is a little bit longer. Another great cover.

Mr. Brownstone:

At first it was not my favorite but now i'm really in love with this song. Great guitars, and Slash's solo is cool! The main guitar riff is so powerful, it's amazing that all those great songs are one the same album. A good intro to paradise city (the next song on Appetite for destruction)!

Bad Obsession:

Excellent song, different, unique, with a lot of harmonica on it. Of course, i love it a lot! They played that song a lot during the Use Your Illusion World Tour and one thing i like is when slash is singing backing vocals and he has to say "bad obsession" 2 times but the second time he's really screaming "BAD OBSESSION!" "ALWAYS MESSIN'!!". I love it!

14 Years:

Probably the best izzy song on UYI with Double Talking Jive and Don't Cry. I do love his voice on this song. Axl is the king but Izzy is great as well.

Patience:

The favorite of so many girls! That's a very nice song that was written mainly by IZZY. So if someone try to tell you that Izzy was not important to GNR tell this person about Patience, Don't Cry, double talking jive, pretty tied up. Axl's voice is very sweet on this. And i like the way they did the intro, Axl spend some time just whistling like "no hurry i dont have to start singing right now the song doesn't have to be short"! They played it both electric and accoustic live and it was excellent too. But i think that there should not be any drumming on that song, even live and electric.

You're Crazy:

Here's another song with two faces. That ultra fast version of Appetite and this cool lies version, accoustic. It's really hard to pick a favorite huh? It just depends on what mood i am. Probably that the best version is the "LIVE ERA" version, the slow version played with the power of electric guitar is definitely a good mix. And on that CD Slash plays a really cool solo.

You Could Be Mine:

This is one of the first songs GNR wrote in their first years. It's amazing how it did not end up on "APPETITE". Because it would fit perfectly on that album. It's loud, powerful, energetic, very good song to wake you up in the morning! Axl sang it perfectly on the album and it's always a very popular song among the GNR fans, i also like it a lot!

Heartbreak Hotel:

Another big mystery in this world: "How come GNR never released that tune?" They did not write it, it's an old Elvis song but their version is totally wonderful and rockin'! Slash did some incredible solos, especially the first one. Izzy also did a great work and the intro/outro are just so cool and pretty "Elvis"! Elvis isn't dead... Hell no Duff!
