MR. PHILLIPS

I met a man some years ago, who made my heart feel glad

To know he suffers health problems, makes me feel so sad.

He may be in his 70's, but in his heart he's young...

So many people love him - my grandchildren think he's fun.

Through all his years of living, he's learned kindness, self-control.

To those of us who know him, we think he's one dear soul!

We truly all admire him, and think he's very wise

He's told us many stories, which make him precious in our eyes.

We pray that God be with him, and help him to endure

Any treatment that will help him, for we love him, that's fersure!

He has a way with children - he makes them feel they're Great!

He teaches them to love mankind, and not to learn to hate.

He says, "Be kind to one another, give your Creator praise

Stand by Christian principles, and learn about God's ways.

For God created everything - he makes all gardens grow

If we tend to them with effort, working hard with rake and hoe.

For walking in a garden brings us close to God above

As we prayerfully give thankfulness and send God all our Love."

Mr. Phillips paints a picture, but explains through stories told

How a picture may be wonderful, but a picture cannot hold

What our Grand Creator has painted in the skies

The wonder of the sunset that we see with our own eyes!

He says, "Painting a landscape is beautiful in the Fall

But the Great Painter of the Universe is the Grandest one of all!

Mr. Phillips, I'm so grateful to know a man like you!

You teach so many lessons I never learned in school.

Please know our prayers are with you, with earnestness and tears

That Almighty God be with you, and take away your fears.

For He will stand beside you and be your dearest Friend

Till then, know that we love you -- When we're with you once again!
