Sri Lanka 17 days Grand RoundTrip

From Februari 10 until March 4 1995 we made a trip to Sri Lanka. We booked a 17-days trip around this island with a private chauffeur via the Special Travel Organisation. Paula had visiting Indonesia earlier, but I (Rene) had never before been to Azia.
We have very much enjoyed the trip. Especially lucky we were with our private chauffeur. He has been telling us a lot while driving us around and he was very flexible when we wanted something a little different from the standard.
The trip started off faily slow, but after 4 days it really became quite exiting. We were shown a lot of the beautiful nature, the tempels and the ancient city's.

Our trip was somewhat different in the order of places. After Negombo we first went via Kandy and Huna Falls. Then to the north. After visiting that warm, flat part of the country we went to the high and relatively cool area around Nuwara Eliya. From there to the south coast to the Safari park Yala. On our last day we drove all round the south part of the island.
