First of all, if you are a newbie to monkeedom, we will need to introduce you to Micky: George Michael Dolenz was born March 8, 1945 in California to George Janelle Dolenz. He has three sisters: Gemma (usually referred to as Coco), Debbie, and Gina. At the age of ten, he landed his first lead as "Corky" in a mid-50's kiddie show, "Circus Boy". He used the stage name Micky Braddock and bleached his hair blonde for the role. After his TV show ended, he went on to architectural drafting. First studying at Valley College and then at L.A. Tech. Before the Monkees, he also sat in on vocals for a group prophetically called "The Missing Links". Another band he formed himself was called "Micky and the One Nighters". In 1965, Micky landed one of the four leads in a TV show called, The Monkees. Afer a crash course on how to play the drums, he became the group's lead singer and toured successfully as their drummer. Micky was by far the most crazy and effervescent of the three members. He even wrote some of their best songs. Of course, Mike Nesmith had the most musical influence in the band though. Micky has been married twice. First to Samantha Juste, with whom he had one child, Ami (1/8/69). Second, to Trina Dow, who he had three children with: Charlotte (8/8/81), Emily (7/25/88), and Georgia (9/3/84). At the present, Micky is working on his directing career and resides in California.
