'sleep'
memories
are like lost feathers we find
some fine and radiant
others matted and soiled
but always they come alone
without their birds
solitude is like that
falling into aloneness without sound
following the crooked path of awakening
from this withered garden
watching for the golden flicker
of wings
through the leaves of trees
