Tropical Storm Gordon

Warning Order 00-07: Tropical Storm Gordon -- The Virtual Emergency Operations Center -- 161745 September 00

TASK ORGANIZATION: Virtual Emergency Operations Center Staff

1. SITUATION: Tropical Storm Gordon is currently located near 24.8 degrees North and 85.7 degrees West, approximately 300 miles southwest of Tampa, Florida. The forecast track for Gordon takes the storm across northern Florida with landfall Sunday night and up the east coast overland, passing over North Carolina and Virginia in 72 hours. Gordon is expected to intensify to a Category I hurricane.

2. PROBABLE MISSION: The Virtual Emergency Operations Center will provide the Situation briefing for supported agencies.

3. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

a. Earliest Expected Actions - Expect activation by 0900 on Sunday 17 September.

b. Expected Sites. The Virtual Emergency Operations Center will be staffed. On site staffing is not expected this week.

c. Expected Staffing. Incident Commander, Situation Unit Leader, Time Unit Leader.

d. Logistics - no identified support requirements at this time.

e. Incident Command - Incident Commander designated per SOP for the duration of the event.

4. SPECIFIC ACTIONS:

a. All personnel notify Logistics Section Chief (pcopeland@ussc.gen.va.us or LTUSSC35@cs.com) of availability for period starting Sunday, 17 September 2000.

b. Expect Mission Order on Sunday, 17 September 2000.

c. Enter all actions completed on the Virtual EOC log using standard paragraph numbers.

d. Use Tropical Storm Gordon as subject line for all messages.
