Pat Riley the Coach is incomparable. Not only is he the best at what he does, but he's also the only one at his level of performance as a coach. He was at the helm of one of the most storied franchises in NBA history, the LA Lakers as they kept filling their fingers with rings and their arena rafters with championship banners. Then he turned the NY Knicks from a ragged, sorry-ass team into an elite squad that scared the crap out of the rest of the NBA and came within a few missed baskets of winning the world championship. After some bad blood with the Knicks management, he headed south to Miami, to turn a relatively new team that had a rather forgettable history into a contender. When the public and the media judge NBA coaches (and professional coaches everywhere), they use Pat Riley as the standard. This page has a few images of him with the Lakers and the Knicks. The one with the Knicks are from his first visit to NY after leaving for Florida and they just go to show how much his former players love him for what he did for them.
