Eckstein Border Site

ARMY SECURITY AGENCY

"The ASA",

This page is under construction. However, when complete, it will contain the History, Memories of times, Good & Bad, Rimbach-American Contact Page, personal information, and geography of the USASA Border Site location known by the names of: Rimbach (the village closest to the site), Hoher Bogan (the name of the mountain were the site is located), Det K (Detachment 'K' of US ASA FS Herzo), or lastly Det 'N' (Detachment N of US ASA FS Augsburg).

The site operated in various forms from 1958 till closure in 1993. There were approximately 2,900 Americans who lived and worked at this wonderful place in Bravaria. These pages are dedicated to those Americans who volunteered time in their lives to insure that their families, friends, and fellow Americans could sleep at night while the 'Silent Warriors' kept watch. And also dedicated to Citizens of Rimbach (93485), Bayern, Bayscherwald, Deutschland whose friendship and acceptance still still warms the hearts of those lucky enough to have known Rimbach.

The Incomplete History of Eckstein is available for review by selecting Eckstein History. Due to a down computer & other reasons, this page has not been updated as planned, will post pictures & other data when time is available to return to finishing the site.
