SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA (TICKER) -- The Phoenix Coyotes acquired Todd Warriner from the Tampa Bay Lightning for Juha Ylonen on Monday in a trade of left wings.
The 27-year-old Warriner, who was selected fourth overall in the 1992 draft by Quebec, joins his third team in 19 months. He was acquired by Tampa Bay in November 1999 from Toronto, where he spent his first five NHL seasons.
Ylonen had nine goals and 14 assists in 63 games for the Coyotes. The 29-year-old also helped Finland win the silver medal at the World Championships in Germany, leading the tournament with five goals and nine assists.
Both the Coyotes and Lightning missed the playoffs last season.
