	FADE IN

EXT. IO, JUPITER'S LARGEST MOON 2000 AD

CAMERAS POINT OF VIEW - The landscape is of a hostile
looking planet with craggy mountains and deep gorges. A
building resembling a BUNKER is seen perched on a cliff
with light showing through all the windows. A heavy wind
has come up and in the distance a LARGE VOLCANO is seen
erupting. In the background the ominous presence of the
planet JUPITER is seen as a huge giant tomato suspended
	in space.

INT. FORTIFIED BUILDING LOOKING LIKE A BUNKER

The Camera focus's on the building and moves in closer and
finally we go through one of the large openings in the side
of the Bunker. We focus on a large room where a couple is
having dinner. DAK REMBO, a HUMANOID whose physical
appearance is that of a small framed earth man with
larger than normal deep set eyes, having no facial hair
and completely bald. He's wearing a uniform resembling a
World War One German officer. Dak's voice registration
is of a small person with a slight lisp. He has three
fingers and his skin is olive, ears having no lobes and
slightly pointed on top. His wife CHAR has similar
features and is dressed in a long robe. Historically
this represents features of humanoids found in galaxies
	outside of earth.

					DAK
				(looking at his wife)
What time are they expecting the fire
			storms today?

					CHAR
				(concerned)
The evening news said, about dawn
			tomorrow, why?

					DAK
I need to go to RACHIN CITY today
			and pick up some supplies.

					CHAR
			What has the council decided
to do about our colony moving
			to the blue planet?

					DAK
Until our drones have mapped the
planet and find a suitable place
			for us, it's on hold.

					CHAR
Suitable place? Any place would be
			better than this place!
Why has it taken so long to find
			a less hostile planet?

					DAK
We had the need, but we didn't
			have the technology.

					CHAR
I really don't want to move, this
is our home! We have all our friends
			here.

					DAK
			The environment here is barely
enough to sustain life as we know
it, and the council is now saying
the life expectancy is much less
			because of the bad air.

					CHAR
My friend JAN told me her husband
said the people from the blue
			planet are very hostile, is
			that true?

					DAK
Don't call it the blue planet,
they call it EARTH. And, yes
			they're very hostile, a human
			life to them means nothing.

					CHAR
				(upset)
I don't understand why we have
to move to a hostile world, and
why do we have to speak English
all the time instead of our
			native language, "JOVIAN".

					DAK
Honey, I want us to be able to
			assimilate with the people on
			earth when we move.

							CUT TO:

EXT. IO WITH VOLCANOES ERUPTING - EARLY MORNING

EXT. FIRE STORM IN PROCESS - VERY HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT

The Camera focuses on the building and in the background
a large red cloud is seen, looking like a fire storm
during a forest fire. Brimstone is seen like hail
bombarding the home of the Rembo's. All the openings in
the structure have large stainless steel doors that are
raised and lowered by large electric motors.

	INT. REMBO'S MAIN LIVING ROOM

The noise of the Brimstone hitting the stainless steel
door is heard and they huddle together when a firestorm
	hits.

					DAK
Why don't you try to relax?

					CHAR
			I'm scared Dak, really scared.

					DAK
			Honey, we've been through these
storms before, why is this one
			any different.

					CHAR
			It just seems more intense!

The entire room begins to shake violently and they're
both thrown to the floor. Items are starting to fall
from the walls and tables and Char is starting to scream.
Dak quickly grabs his wife by the arm, and they rush
over to the storm cellar before the next after-shock hits.
He opens the trap door to the cellar and they both go in.
He closes the door as a very heavy after-shock hits the
structure and starts causing extensive damage.

EXT. FIRE STORM IN PROCESS - VERY HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT

CAMERAS POINT OF VIEW: From a small distance away the
structure is seen starting to break up and part of it
breaks off and falls into the deep canyon. Another
aftershock hits and other parts of the structure tumble
into the canyon. Only a third of the structure is now
left and this part houses the storm cellar that Rembo
is using for a shelter. The shaking is starting to
subside and the camera pans the landscape showing other
structures falling into the deep canyons.

	INT. REMBO'S STORM CELLAR

The view of the storm cellar is that of a large underground
room going into the bedrock like a long tunnel finding
it's way into a large very comfortable room.

					DAK
				(very upset)
I've had it Char, I want out of
			this infernally wretched place.

					CHAR
You know Dak, out friend said
			Earth means dirt, why would
			you call a beautiful blue
			planet like that, "Dirt"!

					DAK
My friend said they call our mother
			planet Jupiter.

					CHAR
			What does Jupiter mean?

					DAK
It means "The chief Roman God".

					CHAR
				(crying)
I wish we had never left our
			home planet.

					DAK
			We had no choice!

					CHAR
Why we ever migrated to this
			disgusting planet is way
			beyond me.

					DAK
			My grandfather said a few
			hundred years ago ....

					CHAR
				(interrupting)
			Wait, Jovian years or Earth
			years?

					DAK
			Jovian years, why?

					CHAR
			Jovian is twelve years, earth
is one year. So by converting
			we have thousands of earth's
			years!

					DAK
			Whatever, anyway as you know
our planet URSAE 6 was located
in the tail end of what they
call the MILKY WAY. We had to
			leave because our sun was
ready to go out. And it did
			five years later.

					CHAR
So what your saying is, we had
no choice, we had to leave our
home. The worst part of this
place is we only have four
			hours of daylight and five
			hours of night!

The next aftershock hits and they are thrown down on the
floor again. They climb into a chamber resembling a Large
Sarcophagus, with the cover made of a transparent material.

EXT. IO, ONE OF JUPITER'S MOONS

CAMERAS POINT OF VIEW - The landscape is that of a hostile
looking planet with craggy mountains and deep gorges.
A SHUTTLE CRAFT is seen coming into view.

INT. UNITED SPACE ALLIANCE (USA) SHUTTLE CRAFT

The craft contains two men, a pilot and a passenger.

					PASSENGER
				(yawning, after a catnap)
			What's this?

					PILOT
			Technically this moon is part
of the Jupiter system, but it's
the only one that has a
			breathable atmosphere. Good nap?

					PASSENGER
			Not bad.
					PILOT
Where'd they bring you in from?

					PASSENGER
			Northern California.

					PILOT
So you came Earth, Alpha one,
			then Alpha Six?

					PASSENGER
			That's right.

					PILOT
You can call me JED, what line of
			work are you in, sir?

					ROSSI
				(reaching for a
				 handshake)
			Dr. DAVID ROSSI, I'm a
			PALEOANTHROPOLOGIST from the
			INSTITUTE FOR HUMAN ORIGINS (IHO).

					JED
 			University of California, Berkeley.
That is a very Prestigious Institute.
			We've been ferrying in Scientists
out of Alpha Six for the last
			two weeks, you're number three.
			What're you guys looking for?
				(looking for a reaction)
Everybody being flown to the middle
			of nowhere.

					ROSSI
			I don't know, do you know what's
			going on?

					JED
				(turns around and looks
				 at ROSSI through his dark
				 glasses)
They're not telling us anything, Doc.
What about you? What'd they tell
			you?

					ROSSI
They told me it was classified.

					JED
Uh-huh. You get called on this kind
			of thing all the time?
					ROSSI
For the last ten years I have
been on the IHO dig teams when
new discoveries are made and it's
			always on a short notice.

					ROSSI (cont.)
			Where exactly are we?

					JED
Between RAPKA and PAKURA in the
			Southern IO Hemisphere.

					ROSSI
				(holding up his
				 star chart)
Can you show me on the chart?

					JED
I'm not supposed to do that, sir.
			Anyway it wouldn't show much.
			Right now you're two trillion
			miles from anywhere, sir.

Rossi stares at the flat horizon, still blue and
featureless. I can believe it, he thought. He yawned.

					ROSSI
Don't you get bored looking at
			that?

					JED
To tell you the truth, no sir.
I'm real happy to see it clear
like this. At least we have good
			weather. And it won't hold...
There's a firestorm forming up in
			the North Hemishpere, should swing
down this way in a few days.

					ROSSI
			What happens then?

					JED
			Everybody clears the hell out.
Weather can be tough in this part
			of the Universe, sir.

					ROSSI
How much longer until we get there?

					JED
			Any minute ...

After two hours of monotony, the large Island appeared
unusually interesting to Rossi and the pilot notices him
	looking so he comments.

					JED (cont.)
They say a large quake fifty years
ago caused this islands volcano to
			erupt, then someone found something
unlike anything that has been found
			before. I guess that's why you're
here. This sea covers a third of the
			planet. It's called the CELESTIAL
			SEA OF TRANQUILLITY.
We're going to set down on the
			small cleared area....
				(pointing to the Island)

The pilot circles the Island and Rossi can see tents and
supplies near the shuttle pad. As the shuttle approaches
the beach, the blades made small waves against the deep
	blue of the water.

					ROSSI
				(disbelief)
All this for a couple of .....

					JED
			Hey, ....I never mentioned any
findings. Check your seat belt if
you would, sir. We're about to
			land. Welcome to Io.

						CUT TO:

	EXT.	CELESTIAL ISLAND DAY

The red coral of the heli pad, slides beneath them as the
Shuttle Craft touches down. BRIAN SCOTT a young Security
Commander in his early thirties from the Alpha Six station
runs up and opens the door.

					SCOTT
			Dr. Rossi?...David Rossi?

					ROSSI
				(making contact)
			That's right.....

					SCOTT
			I'm Security Commander Brian Scott,
			assigned to this project, welcome
			to paradise.

					ROSSI
				(pulling out his baggage)
			Pleased to meet you.

					SCOTT
This way, keep your head down,
			and follow me.

Rossi steps out of the Shuttle and follows Scott off the
shuttle pad and down a narrow trail to where a group of
people are waiting. Rossi turns around and sees the shuttle
	leaving.

					SCOTT (cont.)
			Good trip Dr. Rossi?

					ROSSI
Fine. I'd like to see Dr. LEVITZ.

					SCOTT
He's over in that large tent.

						CUT TO:

	INT.	LARGE EXPEDITION TENT

He walks by the pile of supplies and into the tent out of
the hot sun. DR. ALAN LEVITZ a distinguished looking
gentleman in his sixties is sitting in a chair fanning
himself. He looks up and smiles.

	           				LEVITZ
				(shouting over the crackle
			      	 of the large radio)
Well it's about time Dr. Rossi.
			Have a seat.

Through the door came one of the most beautiful women Rossi
had ever seen. She was about thirty but could pass for
twenty, long blond hair and wearing khaki shorts and a
	safari jacket.

					LEVITZ
Dr. Rossi, this is my daughter
			DR. ANDREA LEVITZ.

					ANDREA
Dr. Rossi, I'm so glad you could
make it. We've so much to show
you. My father and I have followed
			your career for years.

					ROSSI
				(standing up and
				 shaking her hand)
			So you're Dr. Andy Levitz?

					ANDREA
I know, you thought I was a man.

					ROSSI
			What a pleasant surprise.

					LEVITZ
Sit down, both of you.. Dr. Rossi
can I get you a cold drink?
				(glancing around)
Andrea, grab a Diet Coke out of the
			fridge for Dr. Rossi, please.
Dr. Rossi we've made the discovery
of the century! (A beat). We've
			discovered a new Species.....yes
			a new Species!

					ROSSI
Sorry sir, but I think I'm still
dazed from the Shuttle ride. Did
			you say new species?

					ANDREA
Ah, we now have your attention.
Yes Dr. Rossi, a new species.

					ROSSI
			Ok? what's the new species....
The rumors back home are you found
			a cousin to man.

					LEVITZ
They say man keeps searching for
his beginning and I think we've
found it. Come with me my good man.

						CUT TO:

	INT.	LARGE BUNKER DAY

Rossi follows Dr. Levitz and his daughter through a large
opening on the side of an overgrown Bunker. They all walk
down a corridor where the dirt turns to stone walls. The
light is poor, but they're still able to maneuver into a
large room where two coffin like CHAMBER are under
	display.

					LEVITZ
Behold Dr. Rossi, the find of a
			lifetime!

					ROSSI
				(looking into the Chamber)
			Oh, lord....

					ANDREA
That's the same thing we said when
we first saw them, Oh Lord..

					ROSSI
			I don't believe what I'm seeing.
Somebody wake me up because I must
			be dreaming....this just can't be.

					ANDREA
Oh, you're awake all right, but
			it's breathtaking isn't it?
					ROSSI
			I'm totally speechless, this is
the greatest find in the last
			ten thousand years!

					ROSSI
			When did you find them?

					ANDREA
			Last month.....

					ROSSI
It's a spaceman and his mate
			right?

					ANDREA
				(nodding)
(A beat). I think it is...

					LEVITZ
			What else could it be.....

The Chambers are about seven feet long, four feet wide
with depth of three feet. In one a humanoid is laying
on his back with it's head on a pillow. It has what appears
to be a uniform, with Greek like looking letters. He's
completely bald, A large forehead and large deep set eyes.
He's over five feet tall with small hands and feet. Next to
him in the other is also a humanoid having feminine
	features.

					ROSSI
Are they breathing or am I
			imagining it.

					ANDREA
Oh, as a matter of fact yes,
			yes, they're both breathing.

					ROSSI
How can they be breathing if they're
			hundreds of years old!

					ANDREA
We think they could be thousands
of years old. The Chamber is a life
			support system, using technology
unknown to us. The problem is, if
we break it open, they could both
expire from the shock. We're at
			odds what to do.

					ROSSI
			Absolutely no question about it.
We can't take a chance of losing
			them by opening it.....

					LEVITZ
				(shaking his head)
I still don't understand, how any
Alien species could have that kind
			of technology hundreds or thousands
			of years ago!

					ANDREA
We brought you here because of
			your association with the work
			you've done on the delicate
			preservation of new discoveries!

					LEVITZ
Yes, the paper you did for
			the State Department was
			excellent.

             					ROSSI
What you need here is the best
			security you can get.

           					LEVITZ
Of course, and we have it,
			Commanders Scott and Basso
are the best in their field.

					ANDREA
				(giving a paper to Rossi)
Give me your opinion of this....

Rossi looks at a sketch of a shipping container with heavy
	insulation.

					LEVITZ
			What do you think?

					ROSSI
Looks Ok to me, I don't see where
we have any problems. When are you
			getting the containers?

					LEVITZ
They're on the way. Should be here
in two to three days. Good to have
			you aboard Dr. Rossi.

					ANDREA
If there is anything you need?

					LEVITZ
That's right we have a Carte
			Blanche on this project.

					ROSSI
				(curious)
			Great, who else is here?

					ANDREA
Just us, the two Security people
Scott and Basso. IO is a United
			Space Alliance possession, so DR.
			ERIC LUTZ, from their Antiquity
			Division is here.

Scott, Basso and Lutz walk over to them and Dr. Levitz
	does the introductions.

					LEVITZ
Dr. Rossi I want you to meet
			Dr. Rene Lutz, Commanders Scott
			and Basso.

Dr. Lutz is a thin man in his late forties wearing a very
small mustache. Barbie Basso is a very beautiful woman in
her late twenties. Everyone shakes hands and they go back
	to their duties.

					ROSSI
Why the heavy security Dr. Levitz?

			        		  LEVITZ
			State Department insisted, they
want to make sure nothing happens
			to our precious cargo.

					LEVITZ
			The Chamber must be returned
			in twenty-four months.

					ANDREA
However, we do have some options.

					ROSSI
The greatest find in a thousand
years, we need to hang on to them!

					LEVITZ
				(addressing Scott)
Commander Scott I just filled in
Dr. Rossi and he's ready to work
with you on the preparation for
			shipment of the Chamber.

					SCOTT
Good, the sooner we get them out
			of here the better.

					ROSSI
I'm still in shock from this
			discovery....

					SCOTT
I know how you feel, it took me
days to get over it too.

						CUT TO:

INT.	LARGE BUNKER DAY HEAVY RAIN

The discovery team has taken sanctuary inside of the
Bunker and are making themselves comfortable in the
large room where the two Chambers are located. The
small generator is providing light and everyone seems
to be in good spirits. Andrea has placed her sleeping
bag between Rossi and her father.

					ROSSI
Well I guess it's time to hit
			the sack.

					ANDREA
How can you two possibly fall
			asleep with the two monsters
in there, it gives me the
			creeps.

					LUTZ
Andrea, they could teach us things
way beyond what we can even
			imagine!

					ROSSI
				(laughing)
They look like any vanilla type
			space people to me.

					DR. LUTZ
			They're a magnificent find, and
the sooner you take them to the
United States the happier I'll be.

					ROSSI
We'll be happy to take them
			off your hands, my friend.

					SCOTT
				(adjusting the radio)
I've tried every band on this
radio and I can't get anything.
There appears to be some kind
		 	of disturbance blocking out
			everything.
				(looking for a reaction)
			My direction finder says it's
			coming from the Chamber.

					LEVITZ
You know, come to think of it
			that's how the Alliance found
them, they thought one of our
			shuttles crashed here, because
			a Crash locator beacon was
			transmitting.

					SCOTT
You have to be kidding me,
			this "crash locator beacon"
has been sending a signal for
			hundreds or thousands of
			years. (more)
 					SCOTT (cont.)
The frequency is just above the
			level of a Telemetry signal.
That kind of signal could transmit
			to another Solar System.

					ROSSI
They actually could pick them up
			at any time.

					ANDREA
			Yeah right...if they haven't
picked them up by now I doubt
if they'll pick them up in
			this century.

Scott and Basso set up their sleeping bags next
	to each other.

					BASSO
I know how she feels, that thing
			is really creepy.

By midnight the storm hits its peak, but the wind is
carrying large amounts of water into the large room
where the team is sleeping. Rossi notices first so he
nudges Andrea and speaks to her in a very low tone.

					ROSSI
Andrea, I'm moving my sleeping bag
deeper in the room, I'm getting
			wet.

					ANDREA
Be my guest Dr. Rossi, I'd rather be
wet than have to sleep any closer
to Mr. and Mrs. Alien.....good night,
			see you in the morning.

Rossi picks up the sleeping bag and walks over to the
other side of the room, peeking at the Chamber as he
goes by. He notices a small green light in the interior
of the Chamber so he stops and shakes his head.

					ROSSI
				(talking to himself)
 			Rossi, there's no green light...
			you're just imagining it........

He lays down his sleeping bag, climbs in and gets
comfortable. He notices Andrea is joining him
	with her sleeping bag.

					ANDREA
			You're right Dr. Rossi...there's
too much water coming in through
the opening. Mind If I join you?

					ROSSI
			Hey, the more the merrier.

					ANDREA
Do you mind if I get behind you
and the wall so I can have you
			between the Aliens and me.

					ROSSI
			No problem....

					ANDREA
			Dr. Rossi, are you married?

					ROSSI
			Yes, but I'm separated....

					ANDREA
			Yeah right...I've heard that
one before. I'll be fine ....

					ROSSI
Andrea, even if we were alone
			I wouldn't try anything....I'm
			a gentleman.

Finally everyone is asleep, the rain has let up and the
Planet Jupiter is in full sight shining through the clouds.

	CLOSE ON CHAMBER

A small green laser shines out of the Chamber and an
image forms. The image of the spaceman is held in suspension
about three feet above the Chamber, resembling a
holograph. The image looks at Rossi, then Andrea, it turns
around and looks at all the others then turns around again
and hovers for a moment.......then moves over to Andrea. He
compares Andrea to Rossi and appears to be noticing the subtle
differences. It gets closer to Andrea and is now sixteen
inches from her face. He seems to be admiring her, then
retracts back to the Chamber. The green glow stops and
all that is seen is the light system being driven by the
	generator.
