This tiny blue planet was once settled for millennia by a peaceful race that grew organic from the soil. 50,000 years ago, a forgotten race, long exiled from another world, landed and colonized this planet, growing in numbers; gradually, but not entirely, displacing the earthly inhabitants. These colonists, equipped with sensory apparatus evolved on an entirely separate and alien world, rendered incapable of seeing with their own eyes, or hearing with their own ears, compelled to rely on a shared system of perception, developed partially in response to the strange stimuli of an unfamiliar world, but largely in response to the dictates of their socio-political organization. Even their "personal" likes and dislikes could scarcely by regarded as wholly their own. The native inhabitants did not disappear entirely however, but were slowly and inexorably assimilated into the alien population, who we now refer to as "people"; and though their native sense of individual perception did not vanish, it too became submerged in the shared "reality", through distrust, ridicule and suspicion, until even the natives themselves were rendered unable to distinguish their own perceptions from those of the greater society.
