ASHES TO ASHES: FAMILIES TO DUST
If I had to recommend the book which most helped us fight Galina's case, I would have to say it was DEAN TONG's book:
Dean's book gives you basic information on what to do and what NOT to do.
Written in an easy going format, it doesn't scare you with big words and legalese, but it does advocate protecting yourself. Having spoken to Dean on the telephone, at the beginning of our fiasco, I was inclined to distrust some of what he told me -I expected justice to work!
Dean was right, and our 6 months in the system proved this over and over again. I cannot thank him enough! This book is a MUST-READ for anyone FALSELY ACCUSED of child abuse or child sexual abuse. Dean is not just an author, he has been there.
You cannot expect justice, or your lawyer, to work for your innocence unless you are paying big money. Most of us can't afford that, so we have to do a lot of the legwork ourselves. You have to be prepared - and Dean's book prepares you for what you don't expect, as well as what you do!
Legal Books
Since becoming involved in the fight to clear my daughter's name, I have read many legal books to help me to understand the system, and how it works. It is not a clear cut route on an easily navigated roadmap, more like a footpath through a swamp after heavy rainfall. there are many pitfalls for the lay person to avoid. The books on this page can help you to a clearer understanding of how to do what needs to be done.
As always, there is no guarantee that you can do it all yourself, and when in doubt, it is best to consult a lawyer. It might make you more comfortable knowing that lawyers are reading these same books! Clicking on the link will take you through to a site for that title, and any reviews on it.
This page has been visited times. I hope it helps you in some way, and wish everyone that they get to win their cases and move on and regain their lives, afterward.
