Krosfyah is arguably the hottest band to have ever come out of Barbados. Their unique blend of soca, reggae and calypso is thrilling fans all over the world. Their music is characterized by a fresh, innovative sound and positive, conscious messages. Krosfyah began in 1989, and was originally known as Crossfire. However, in 1993, decided to reshape its image and target a broader international audience. It was at this point that they were renamed Krosfyah. In July 1995, the band released its Ultimate Party-Pump Me Up album, which surpassed all expectations and became the hottest CD of its kind worldwide. The album has received rave reviews in the Caribbean, US, and Europe. Edwin Yearwood, the band's lead singer is also well known throughout the Caribbean as a musician in his own right. In 1995, he won the 1995 Party Monarch, the 1995 Calypso Monarch, and the Road March Monarch awards during Barbados' Cropover. He went on to win the 1996 Regional Roadmarch Monarch and win the Party Monarch title for 1996. He is now one of the Caribbean's foremost songwriters and performing artists.
