Little Nell - The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Real Name: Laura Campbell
Also Known As: Nell Campbell & Little Nell
Born: May, 24, 1953
Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

Little Nell was born in Sydney, N.S.W on May 24th 1953. Her father, Ross Campbell was writer for the Sydney Telegraph during the 1960's. He wrote a column about the children in his family. The heroine for Dickens' "The Old Curiosity Shop" was the namesake for Little Nell, and the alias stuck.

In the 1972 summer Olympics, Nell was a swimmer on the Australian team.

How she got the part for RHPS?? She was known as "the tape dancing soda jerk",   who would tap dance while serving people their order. Richard Hartly and   Brain Thompson heard about this and went to check it out as they were looking for a Columbia for The Rocky Horror Show. Nell tap-danced for them while serving the 2 their order. She was then offered the job to star in the  London production at The Royal Court Theatre Upstairs.

Rocky Horror soon become a big success and a movie was to be made of it. Nell reprised her role in the film as Columbia.

After Rocky Horror she appeared in numerous movies such as Derak Jarman’s groupie film Jubilee, Lizstomania, Pink Floyd's: The Wall and more. Nell also appeared in the sequel to The Rocky Horror Picture Show called Shock Treatment.

In 1975 she released her first single called The Musical World Of Little Nell, this single made recording history as it was first Triple B-side record in recording history. In 1978 she recorded another record called Fever, the songs were a minor dance hit in the late 70's. Later on in 1980 she recorded yet another record called Beauty Queen it was the soundtrack to the British film called I Wanna Be A Beauty Queen or sometimes known as The Alternate Miss World.

In 1986's Nell then packed up and moved to New York to open the highly successful nightclub Nell's. I believe a video for one of the music groups was shot there, I'll have to check the name though. She also has opened a place called The Kiosk, and another one called E & O with business partner Lynn Wagenknecht.

Well thats about it, but catch her in the new film called Great Expectations, which has been released. Look out for it!!!!
