Balancing Act

SCSAC member Bonnie Love recently needed new tires and told us about the interesting and very size positive treatment she received at one local store:

"Rodney, one of the mechanics, advised me he could do a better tire alignment if I sat in the car while he was doing it. I had never heard of this procedure before. Rodney told me he had worked in Hawaii and had experience maintaining cars driven by Samoan people, who tend to be extra-large. He showed me the two alignments on his computer display and I was amazed at the difference. There is also a big improvement in the way my car is driving."

"This positive encounter led to another the very next day. My car had been leaking steering fluid. Another shop had told me the problem was with the rack and pinion steering. The part alone would have cost almost a thousand dollars! The mechanics at Evans Tires concluded the problem was a $150 pressure hose...expensive for an automotive hose, but a far cry from the earlier diagnosis."

"It isn't often that something good is said about mechanics, but these people deserve a pat on the back for their honesty and integrity. They took the time to do a quality job and fix the problem properly."

The mechanics Bonnie speaks of so highly are at Evans Tires, 6696 Miramar Road. Call 619-535-8112 for information.
