The Coulter Cats

The Coulter Cats are five very special kitties. Hopefully, I will soon have access to a scanner so you can see them, but for now here is a little info about them, including clubs they belong to and a list of their favorite quotes. Meow!

First, an introduction to Shannon's cats--

Meow-my name is Blackie and I am (as you probably already guessed) a black, long-haired male. I am seven months old in human time, which makes me about 10 years old in real time. My first memories are of living under a building and being VERY hungry. I couldn't remember where my mother was so I cried a lot...Soon, I began to find bits of meat and milk left near the building, and that helped my empty tummy. Not long after that, I crawled through a hole in a fence only to find a rather large dog! But I was lonely and tried to be friends. Before I knew it, a human (Shannon) heard me crying and came and scooped me up and put me in a big box! But I wasn't scared and settled down for a catnap. I was very malnourished, and could fit in the palm of my new mom's hand, but soon I became fat and sassy! It took awhile for the other kitties to get used to me, but seeing as how I'm the only male around here, how can they resist me?! Oh well, I guess you're ready to meet the others... Meow for now!

Meow-I am Blackfoot and why I didn't get to "speak" first is beyond me, considering I am the first cat to reside here! Oh well...I am a quite large spotted Manx. That's right-I have no tail! I have lived with my human mom and dad for about 9 years. Since I am the oldest, I have always considered myself to be in charge, although the younger ones can get quite out of paw, if you know what I mean! I have a pleasant life, even if I don't get to come inside as often as I would like! I have had two litters of kittens, of which two of my daughters stayed with me. Also, one of my sons, but he is no longer with us... Well, I will let you meet my two babies now--it is snack time! Meow!

I'm Shybee...I am one of Blackfoot's 7-year-old "babies". I'm a reddish-brown tabby with a tail, even though I am half Manx... My other mom named me Shybee because when I was younger, I didn't like to be touched very much. Thus, Shybee stands for "Shy Baby". I had a brother, Stripey, whom I was very close to, but he wasn't quite fast enough to cross the street one day. He is sorely missed by all of us, but all in all, I guess I have a pretty good life with the rest of my family... Now that new addition, Blackie, likes to chase and tease me, but actually it's kinda fun to have a young man around here! Well, I'm not as shy as I used to be, but it's time for me to run off now! Meow!

Purrrrrrrrrr...I'm Graybee. Can you guess what that means? Why, Gray Baby, of course! I am Blackfoot's other daughter and I'm gray with a little stub of a tail-very cute, if I must say so myself! I'm very friendly and when I'm especially happy, I like to lay on my back and curl my toes! Miss Shannon spoils me rotten and I love every minute of it! Like I said before, I'm very affectionate and have never scratched anyone (although sometimes I nibble and bite fingers when I'm happy). Well, here comes Lottie for her turn--she's really a sweetie...Meow for now!

A note from Shannon:

On June 24, little Lottie turned up missing. She had been in poor health since an accident that dislocated her tail. She had severe nerve damage that caused her to have no control over her bladder and bowels. The accident occurred several months ago, and her future looked promising. But for the past few days, she weakened and would not eat although I tried very hard to find something that would appeal to her. She is sorely missed and I hopr she will turn up, although I fear the worst...Bless you, Lottie, wherever you are.
