Chrysler Fifth Avenue

I own a couple of 5th Ave Chryslers. A 1986 with 76357 miles, dark blue with a dark blue leather interior and a wrecked 1987 that I bought for parts. The one I am parting out has a real smooth running 318 cubic inch engine(I should keep the engine for myself!). The wrecked 5th Ave has a nice leather interior. The amazing thing about the wrecked fifth avenue is that the radiator still held antifreeze and the airconditioning still worked even though the front had been mashed pretty good.

Most of my friends thought I should fix this fifth avenue because aside from the front it is in excellent shape but how many cars do you need to drive!
I almost bought a red 1983 5th Ave the other day but the deal fell through. I have liked 5th Ave Chryslers since the early 80's when my landlords, at that time, bought a new one and they let me drive it around by myself quite a bit(I could pick up more women in a new 5th Ave then I could in my 73 Pinto Wagon).

Well, exactly 6 weeks after the guy with the red 5th ave refused my price, I purchased it from him today. I drove it about 100 miles today and it rides and drives nice. The 318 cid V8 sings to me the tone that only a V8 engine is capable of, at 60 mph it is only slightly above an idle. This Chrysler felt huge compared to the V6 powered Buick Skylark I have been driving for the past six weeks. I am not a small man and I have never been real comfortable in a small vehicle. The 5th ave would be perfect if the seat would only go back another 2 inches.
