The Rejoicing of the Israelites #2
This panel, based on Egyptian celebration scenes, depicts the Israelites celebrating their deliverance from the Egyptian army through the Red Sea. Above them is the right hand of God inscribed with the paleo-Hebrew word for "I AM". The text to the left of the hand (also in paleo-Hebrew) is verse 6 of Exodus 15, which reads: "Your right hand, O Lord, was majestic in power. Your right hand, O Lord, shattered the enemy". Below the Israelites are two dead Egyptian soldiers floating in the waters of the Red Sea.(Exodus 15:6)
