The Miller - Bender Ensemble was instigated by Ulysses Miller, son of
Dan J. Miller. Ulysses taught Ernest Miller and Walter Bender the art
of playing the violin. Rhoda and Lucretia Bender were the keepers
of the music and accompanists on the piano. All four men we known
to have played the violin, but sometimes Ulysses played the horn.
This ensemble played mainly for their own enjoyment but occasionally
performed on request for neighboring towns.
