The background music on Buffy the Vampire Slayer aims right for the heart. "Fans call the network all the time asking, 'What was that awesome song I heard,'"says John King, a music scout for Twentieth Century Fox, who lurks around Los Angeles looking for bands to contribute to the show. Die hard fans take note: You'll get to sink your teeth into a Buffy soundtrack by spring. There's still no title, but we'd like to suggest Kick Me, Kill Me: The Original Buffy Soundtrack. We asked a true Buffy buff to explain why the music really matters: "It's amazingly difficult to find the proper background tune for a good slaying," says Scott Waldman, a visitor to many Buffy Web sites, "but the producers keep doing it every time."
