Fuzzle was rescued after we received a call
from the veterinarian's office, where he had been abandoned. Fuzzle
had been chased up a tree by two dogs; he fell out of the tree and the
two dogs were immediately upon him. The owner of the two dogs managed
to get him away from the dogs. Little baby Fuzzle, who was only 7
weeks old at the time, suffered a badly broken leg...his femur was snapped
in two.
The veterinarian called us, knowing that if
Fuzzle were sent to a shelter, he would most likely be euthanized because
of his injury. The veterinarian (Village Royale Animal Clinic, in Royal Palm Beach, FL) said that Fuzzle's leg could be repaired
by performing surgery to pin and wire it...if only they could find someone to pay
for the surgery (which they agreed to do at cost) and find him a home.
I had just gotten back from the hospital after
having surgery when I got the call from the vet. I was not able
to even sit up, but something (or Somebody) told me this little guy was
something special. I usually foster the kittens myself (foster homes
are almost impossible to find), but because of my medical condition, I
was unable to take this little boy. I asked my friend to bring me
the yellow pages and I started calling every television station and newspaper.
I prepared a press release which we faxed to all newspapers the following
morning. After the story was printed in two local papers, we found
a foster home for Fuzzle! The foster parent, Emilie Ader, was a student
in one of the classes my friend teaches. I authorized the surgery at our cost
and Fuzzle was given another chance at life...a miracle!
When we visited Fuzzle at the vet's office...even
while his leg was still broken...he was a bundle full of love. He
cuddled right up against us, "kneaded" and purred up a storm. That
is how he got his name - a combination between nuzzle and fuzzy :-)
Fuzzle is now 6 months old. His leg is completely healed - he doesn't even have a limp! Unfortunately, Fuzzle's foster home was hoping to adopt him, but recent events has made that impossible. Fuzzle still needs a good home! I am in the hospital, but I can receice email. Please, if you know of anyone who would like to adopt this adorable little baby, please email me. I can access my email here at the hospital and will get in touch with you. Fuzzle is one of the most loving kittens I have ever met...he is eager for cuddles and snuggles, and he gets along very well with other cats.
Fuzzle has medium-long hair, with a big fluffy
tail. He is black, with a silver-charcoal tummy.

A personal note: When I started this
web page, I decided not to put anything "personal" on it. However,
Fuzzle has made it necessary for me to explain. I run the organization
and am the main volunteer and foster home. However, I have
a spinal cord "syndrome" which has kept me hospitalized for the last four
months. So, therefore, we have had to scale down out organization's
activities. If you think you could, or know anybody who could,
help us duing this crisis time, please email
me.
We need volunteers to help raise money, transport kittens to the vet, and
foster rescued kittens (see "the road home - how we rescue."
