The Crate
Opened February 11, 1985 at the Ensemble Studio Theater, 549 West 52nd Street, New York, NY
"The Crate" is unlike most of Silverstein's other plays because it is not a one-acter; rather, it is a collection of short sketches
united by one theme: what happens when instead of hiring "great" actors, the auditory aspect gets jumbled and you are stuck
with the best "crate" actors ever? Through the direction of Art Wolff and the acting by Bill Cwikowski, Raynor Scheine,
John Fiedler, Heather Lupton, Deborah Reagan, Howard Sherman, Robert Trebor and Janet Zarish, the audience were
treated to a variety of different ideas all revolving around a large crate that occupied center stage.
