Undying Love

Chapter 18

Taylor looked at the clock by Cara's bed. It was 10:30 pm. He had been there all day, just sitting with her. She had been in the hospital for two weeks, going in and out of concesness. He was starting to get worried. If it wasn't serious, like the doctors said, why was she still there? He looked at her sleeping. She was beautiful. He didn't care that she didn't have any make-up on, or that she was pale, she still looked like the Cara he fell in love with. He put his hand on hers, and felt her squeeze it. She moved around a little, and then woke up.

"Hi," she said, faintly smiling.

"Hey. How are you feeling?" he asked.

"Um, tired. How long was I out?"

Taylor looked at the clock. "For about twelve hours."

"Wow," she said, trying to sit up.

"No, lay back down," he said, helping her.

She smiled at him again. "You are such a sweetie."

Taylor leaned over and kissed her. Just then, someone walked into the room.

"Cara!" exclaimed Zac. "You are awake!" He walked over to her and gave her a hug.

"Have you guys been here all day?" she asked, grabbing Zac's hand. Taylor had gone into the hallway to give him some room.

"Yea!" he said, smiling. "Why would we leave you?"

Cara pulled Zac toward her and kissed him on the cheek. "You are such a sweetie."

Zac gave her a nother hug and kissed her on the hand. "I know!" he said and flashed her a smile that she had to laugh at. "I'll go get Taylor for you." He squeezed her hand and walked out the door. The last thing that Cara heard was Zac calling Taylor's name. Then everything went blank.

"Get her into ER, stat!"

Taylor's head was spinning. He had walked into Cara's room and found her going into spazums. He called the doctor and they wheeled her off into the Emergency Room. No one was aloud in there with her. Not even Robin.

"What the hell is going on?" yelled Jacob from acroos the hall. He had just gotten to the hospital to check on Cara, when her heard the doctors talking about taking the Johnson patient into ER. He ran up to where Taylor, Zac and Robin were standing, looking into a window.

"I don't know!" yelled Taylor, on the verge of tears. "She was spazing out when I went into her room, so they wheeled her down here. They won't let us know what is going on!" He looked into the window, trying to figure out what was going on.

Robin couldn't take it. She didn't want to go crazy right there in the hospital. She she walked off to a pay phone and decided to call Cara's father. Although Robin couldn't stand being in the same room as him, she felt he had the right to know.

She dropped some money into the pay phone and dialed his number. Explaining the whole thing to him, she told him that he should come down there. He agreed and said he would leave the house as soon as possible.

Robin hung up the phone and walked back over to where the boys were standing. Not two seconds after she got there, a doctor came out with a clip board in his hands.

"Excuse me!" said Robin to the doctor. "Can you please tell me what is going on with my daughter?"

The doctor looked at the awating party and smiled. "She is okay. Unconcious, but okay. We are going to wheel her back into her room. She must have reacted with some of the medicine being given to her. All we have to do is give her a little more food next time, and she will be fine." He gave them one more reassuring smile, and walked off.

"Well, that is okay. It sounds like she is okay." Taylor was trying to reassure himself more than the others. They walked with Cara back to the room and watched the doctors set the bed back up. Instead of waiting outside, they all took a seat in the room. Some were on the floor. Zac took the same seat he had been sitting in for the past two weeks. Within the minute, they were all asleep.
