Undying Love

Chapter 2

"Ladies and gentlemen, please fasten your seatbelts. The aircraft will be descending shortly." Cara woke up to the lady's voice over the intercom. She looked at her watch. "Good," she thought. "I slept through the whole flight." She really didn't want to deal with her mother right now. 'Speaking of my mother, where is she?' Cara thought to herself. She started looking up and down the aisles. Just then she saw her mother slip out of the tiny opening some would call a bathroom.

"Excuse me, Cara," her mom said as she tried to get back to her seat in the middle of her row.

Cara looked at the third person in their row. "Wow," she thought. "He isn't bad looking!"

"Ladies and gentlemen, flight 202 to Tulsa, Oklahoma has just landed. Please watch your step while exiting the aircraft and enjoy your stay here in Tulsa!" and the intercom clicked off. Cara undid her seat belt and shot up like a rocket, determined not to get caught in the two hour traffic in the aisle.

"Cara!" Robin called after her daughter who apparently didn't want to stay on the stuffy airplane any longer. "Wait for me out in the lobby!" Even though she didn't hear an answer, she knew that Cara had heard her. Ever since she had turned fourteen she had gotten a bit of an attitude toward Robin. 'It isn't the fact that she is a teenager.' Robin thought. 'I don't know what is going on inside of her head anymore, thats what it is.'

Cara got out into the lobby, looking for her mother to come through the walkway any minute. It was ten minutes before Cara found her. "What took you so long?" Cara asked her mother when she finally got out of the plane.

"There are just too many people in that plane!" her mother answered. "Now, aren't you anxious to see our new home?" she squealed, suddenly happy that she was there.

"God mom!" Cara joked, "You act like you have never seen this house before!" Cara couldn't help but giggle.

"I know, but I love it! And besides, you have never seen it before. Aren't you exited?"

"I guess. I just want to get home. Where ever that is." Cara and Robin got their bags from the conveyer belt, and went to go pick up their car that was waiting for them with the rest of the vehicles flown to Oklahoma. They got in, and without waisting any time, were on the road.

It wasn't that far from the airport to their house. Cara and her mother mostly sat in silence, now and then commenting on the beautiful scenery or the gorgeous weather. Cara thought about what she was going to do when she got to her house. First, she decided, she was going to Jacob's house to get Socks, her black lab. She was glad her half brother was living across the street from her. Well, he wasn't really her half brother, but he used to be. She wondered how Socks was doing. Her mom had brought the dog up when she came to sign for the house. They both decided it was a good idea to leave it with Jacob until they got there, because they didn't think he would like all of the ruckus back at their old house in Florida.

Suddenly the car lurched forward. "Opps," her mother said sweetly. "I passed it!" The car backed up and pulled into the driveway of one of the biggest houses she had ever seen.

"Wow!" was all she could say. What else was there to say? It was beautiful. She looked across the street to where Jacob lived. His house was just as big! And so was the one next door! "Wow!" she said again, loader this time.

"Well, here we are! Home sweet home, I guess."

"It's great!" Cara exclaimed. "Where is my room?"

"It is where ever you want it to be. I don't really care which room I have, so you can have first choice."

"Wow! Thanks mom!" and Cara went inside. She saw that all of the furniture was delivered saftly, and ran upstairs. She was looking down a hallway with four doors on each side. She went to the left first. 'Bathroom' she thought as she opened the door. The second door opened into a room like none other she had ever seen before. It had windows everywhere! A sun room, or something like that. It looked onto the biggest pool she had ever seen and thought to herself that it was actually her pool. She went to the third room on the left. A closet. She opened the door to the forth room and was amazed. Before her was a gigantic room with two walk-in closets and it's own bathroom. A huge one, at that! She saw that there was a cable outlet and a phone outlet, and pronounced this room hers. She ran downstairs and outside calling to her mother. She stopped when she saw Jacob there talking to her. But that wasn't what made her stop. It was the fact that there were three other boys in on the conversation. Three boys she couldn't believe were there.

"Cara!" Jacob yelled and came and hugged her. She was so overwhelmed with everything that was happening. She had found her room, was greeted by Jacob, the best "Big Bro" in the world, and was standing just a few feet awat from Hanson!

"Hey Jake! How are you? I missed you so much!"

"Oh, I'm great! But I have some bad news about Socks."

"What?" she pondered.

"I killed him."

"WHAT? Ohmigod!" Cara's happiness droped right out of her.

"Relax! I'm kidding!" Jacob teased.

"I hate you!" Cara couldn't help but crack a smile.

"Hey man! That was harsh!" Isaac, one of the Hansons, was walking over, followed by two more, all as cute as could be.

"Wow! I can't believe it's you!" Cara said in her sweetest voice.

"It's me!" said Zac. And bowed to her.

"Zac!" Taylor scolded, beet red. She knew he was the easy blusher.

"Guys, this is Cara, my half sister."

"Hi, I'm Taylor." Taylor stuck his hand out and she took it and shook it. Taylor couldn't believe how beautiful the girl was. Long, straight blonde hair and huge blue eyes, about the size of Zac. It took him a minute to flask back to reality.

"Hi, I'm Zac!" he said in that sweet "I'm adorable look at me" voice. Cara smiled and looked him over. She couldn't help but notice, even for a twelve year old, he looked pretty good.

"And I'm Isaac." Ike said, trying so hard not to laugh at the thought of both of his brothers falling for the same girl. He could tell that instantaneously about them. He had to give them credit though...

"Nice to meet you all!" said Cara. "I love your music! It's the best!"

Cara thought of the CD Heather, her friend, had given her for a good-bye present. It was the Hanson CD, and ever sice she got it, it had been in the player 24/7.

"Thanks!" Isaac said, still tickled at the look both Zac and Taylor were giving her.

"Yea, thanks!" Taylor and Zac said, almost in harmony.

"So, Cara," Robin said walking up to the group. "Have you found your room yet?"

"I sure have! It's the greatest!"

"I'm glad you found one you liked," Robin said. "Jacob, why don't you invite your mother to come to dinner with us? You boys, too. We obviously have nothing in the house to eat!"

"Sure!" Jacob pronounced.

"I don't know." said Isaac. "I mean, we would love to, but I don't think you want to put up with out younger siblings."

"Sure we do!" said Cara. "Bring them! I want to meet them!"

"Yea, I think we can." Taylor was still staring at Cara, mesmerized by her beauty.

"That's great!" said Robin. "Why don't we meet you all out here at 7:00 pm?"

"Okay," they all chimed in.

"Great! Well, Cara. We have to go in and start cleaning. Brent and his crew will be here tomorrow and we don't want dust under every single piece of furniture in our house!"

"Okay mom. I will be there in a sec." Cara's mother entered the house with a friendly good-bye wave to the boys.

"Uh! I hate cleaning!" Cara complained.

"Look at it this way. All you have is an hour before dinner, and you can use a shower for an excuse!" Zac seemed like an expert on these kinds of things.

"Take it from him! The master of getting out of things he doesn't want to do!" Taylor said, giggling at the sight of his brother's face.

"Well, I guess I will see you guys later!" Cara gave Jacob one more hug and ran inside. As soon as the door closed, Isaac and Jacob started rolling on the floor with laughter.

"What is so funny?" Zac asked.

"You... guys... are!" They wheezed out in-between their laughter.

Taylor rolled his eyes and walked away to his house. Zac started laughing just at the sight of the two cracking up. "You guys are weirdos!" he said.

"Come on. We gotta get ready to go to dinner," proclaimed Isaac and they all were off.
