Undying Love

Chapter 3

"Mom! Where is my bag from the plane ride?" Cara yelled to her mother who was downstairs finishing up the cleaning.

"It's in the car! I never got it out!"

Cara ran downstairs and stopped in front of her mom. "What?" she asked again.

"It's in the car," her mom repeated.

"Oh, no!" Cara ran out to the car. "It's gonna be melted!" She opened the car door and took out the bag. She opened it up and made sure her lip stick wasn't melted. When she saw that it wasn't, she sighed a relieving sigh and walked back into the house.

"Is it okay?" her mother asked, somewhat concerned.

"Yea, it's fine." She walked up to her room, which had absolutly nothing in it and wondered how she was gonna do this until Uncle Brent got there.

*****

"Cara! Are you ready? It's 7:00!"

"I'm comeing! Hold on!" Cara put the finishing touches on her make up. She was good at that. She knew how to make it look natural, but still cover everything she wanted. Lauren once told her she should go to Cosmotology school. Of corse, Cara diagreed.

Cara ran downstairs and outside to what seemed to be thirty people.

"Cara!" Jacob yelled. "Come here!"

Cara walked over to Jacob who was with the Hanson brothers. "Hey!" she proclaimed.

"Hey," they all said. Taylor walked up to her.

"Cara, this is my mother, Diana, and my father, Walker."

"Hi!" Cara smiled, amazed to be meeting Hanson's parents!

"Nice to meet you!" Diana said.

"We have heard alot about you from Jacob. He is obviously proud to be related to you!" Walker smiled and winked. "Jessie...!" they both yelled at the children running around the car.

"I am proud to be related to you! But, not as proud as you should be to be related to me!" Jacob said, trying to sound all moncho. It wasn't working.

"Don't you wish!" Cara said and smiled. Then she saw Marie come out of her house.

Marie was Jacobs mother, and her EX stepmother. What had happened was when her parents got divorced, her father married Marie. But later divorced her and ran off with his secretary. Cara and Marie did NOT get along. She still thought of Jacob as her half-brother, but thought of Marie by nothing other than him mom. But Cara didn't understand. Marie and her mother were good friends. Maybe it is just that Marie was a born enemy. Whatever the reason, she lived close to her now, and she had to make the best of it.

"Robin! Cara! How long has it been!" Marie was already embracing Robin. She started to walk to Cara but quickly changed her mind when she saw the look on Cara's face. Insread, she just smiled.

Just then Cara noticed Zac shooting a feirce look at Marie. Cara smiled and walked over to him.

"You hate her too, I suppose?"

"More than anything!" Zac tried to keep quiet. "You mean, you don't like her either?"

"Ha! That little wench? Whenever I see her, I just want to smack her, or something!"

"That's funny. I thought I was the only one who didn't like her. How did you know, anyway?"

"The look you gave her. Need I say more?" Cara smiled. Zac smiled back.

"Okay!" Robin topped over everyone's voice. One thing she was good at! "Where are we going?"

"We can go to CeCe's," Walker said. "It seems like everyone is in the mood for pizza!"

"Okay, great!" said Robin.

"Just follow me," Marie wispered in her ear. "Why bother?" Cara thought. Everyone heard her anyway!

Diana's voice got high piched as she started yelling at the kids again. Finally eveyone was settled and they were off.

Robin looked at Cara for a second and then asked, "You don't like Marie, do you?"

"Whatever gave you that idea?" Cara said sarcasticly.

"You just have to give her a chance. I know she married your father, but that doesn't have anything to do with you. Her and I are still friends, and I think since you are so close to Jacob, you should become close to her, too."

"Whatever," Cara said and the rest of the ride was silent.

*****

"Uh, Cara! Come sit with us," yelled Jacob. He knew if Cara and his mother sat at the same dinner table, all hell would break loose.

Cara sat down next to Jacob, Taylor across from her, Zac next to her. "Thanks," was all she said. She new why Jacob had called her over.

"Did you have fun cleaning?" asked Zac, a huge grin on his face.

"Too bad I only had to vacuum the downstairs carpets!" and she smiled back.

"So, Cara. I feel like I don't really know you." said Taylor. "Why did you guys decide to move here?"

"No, no, no," Cara corrected. "We didn't decide to move here. We had to move here. Jack said that I should go studio shopping in Oklahoma, because they supposedly have the best teachers here."

"What?" Taylor obviously didn't understand.

"She dances," said Jacob, clueing him in on what Cara was talking about.

"Oh!" Taylor said. "Are you good?"

"Well, right now I am the national champion of NDC, so you decide."

"Wow!" exclaimed Isaac. "So, you are best in the nation?"

"Well, best out of everyone who competed."

"How many copeted?" questioned Zac.

"In nationals or all together?"

"All together," Zac said.

"Over 5,000."

"Wow! You have to be good to win out of that many people!" Zac was amazed.

"She is the bomb!" Jacob comented. "I bet every dancer in America knows who she is!"

"Ha! I only wish!" Cara saw Robin walk up to them.

"Do you guys know what you are going to order?" she asked.

"It would help if I had a menu," commented Cara.

"Here," Taylor handed her his menu, "you can have mine."

"Thanks!" and Cara smiled at him.

"Just don't get anything big. You have to audition tomorrow, remember?"

"Yes mother! I know!" cried Cara.

"Okay." and Robin walked off.

"What? Is she afraid you are gonna get fat between now and tomorrow?" asked Isaac, rather sarcasticly.

"Probably. I wish she would just leave me alone! I can take care of myself!" At that, Cara got rather upset and sank down in her seat. She mostly listened to the rest of the conversation, now and then adding a "Yes" or "No" in for her point of view. Finally the waiter came up and took their orders. She decided just to order a side salad and water. After all, her mother was right. She had to perform tomorrow and she didn't want to take any chances.

"Cara, your not gonna have any pizza?" asked Zac, quite shocked that anyone would come to a pizza parlor and order a salad!

"No. I'm not hungry."

"Cara, I..."

"Jacob, don't worry about it!" Cara snaped at him.

Jacob looked at her and started thinking. How could Robin come and tell her not to eat that much? Doesn't she remember that is when everything started happening last time? Please god, don't let her go back to her old eating habits... please god.
