Undying Love

Chapter 4

"Hello?" Cara rolled over on her side trying to situate herself so the phone that had just woken her up wasn't sticking her in the side.

"Hey Cara. Is your mom there?"

"Oh, hi Jack. Yea, hold on a sec." Cara got up and walked to the upstairs hallway. "Moooom! Jack is on the phone!" she called loudly, making sure that Robin heard her.

Robin walked into the hallway. "Thanks, dear." and she took the phone from Cara.

I wonder what this is about, she thought. Lately, whenever her agent called for her mother, there was usually a big decision to be made. Jack new that Robin would go along with whatever he said. Cara, on the other hand, would stand her ground.

She looked at the clock. 9:15. "I guess I should get ready." she thought. She took a shower and pulled on her leotard and tights, with her sweatsuit over it. She walked out into the hallway to see her mother just about to knock on the door.

"Yes, mom?" Cara questioned.

"Well, that was Jack on the phone, and..."

"I know, mother. I answered it, remember?"

"Oh, yea. Well, he said that after you go to see all of the dance schools you want, we should go check out Oklahoma City's Professional Ballet School."

Cara sighed. Did that mean they would have to move again? "First of all, I don't want to go to dance in Oklahoma City. Second of all, I don't want to go to a professional Ballet school! I want to have fun when I dance!" All of a sudden, the phone rang.

Robin picked it up. "Hello?"

"Hey Robin, it's Diana. Hanson."

"Oh, hi Diana. What can I do for you?"

"Well, I was wondering if you and Cara would like to go shopping with me and the boys today."

"Oh, we would love to, but I am afraid Cara has to audition for a dance school today, and we are also going to look at a few more."

"Well, when is the audition?" Diana questioned.

"In 45 minutes."

"Oh. Well, we can wait for you to get back if you would like."

"You don't have to do that!"

"Oh, but we want to! This is our chance to get to know eachother better!"

"Well, I'll tell you what. Why don't you and the boys come with us to the audition, and then we can go out. Cara and I will go studio shopping later."

Cara looked at her mother in shock. Just a few minutes ago she was saying how important it was for Cara to find a good studio. Now her mother wanted to put it off to go out? And with Diana, who she had just met?

Robin hung up the phone and looked at her daughter. Cara looked upset.

"I guess you want to know what's going on, huh?"

Cara huffed, "Yea! I thought we were gonna go looking today?"

"Well, we are still going to your audition, but we can go looking tomorrow. Diana has invited us to go shopping with her and the boys. How does that sound?"

Cara lightened up a bit. She could handle shopping. And a day with the Hanson boys wasn't a bad idea. She forced a grin. "Okay, mom. I guess we can go tomorrow!"

Robin smiled glad to see that her daughter wasn't upset. "Good! Well, why don't you go get some things together because we are going straight from the audition."

Taylor, Zac, and Isaac were all sitting up in their room, looking through some music and writing down some words to songs that poped up. All of a sudden, their mom bust in to their room.

"Thanks for knocking!" a sarcastic Isaac said to his mother. "Oh, sorry! I just wanted to tell you there is going to be a change of plans today."

Zac shot up. "You mean, we aren't going out with Cara? And Robin," he added, trying to sound mellow.

"No, we are still going, but you guys have to get ready now. We are leaving in 30 minutes."

Taylor stood up, starting to get ready. "Why?"

"Well, Cara has an audition for a dance school, so we are going to go see that, and then out from there."

Isaac smiled. He heard Cara was a good dancer and wanted to see her ability. "So, we get to see her dance?" he asked Diana.

"Yes, we do. But don't worry, it won't be very long. So, you boys get ready!"

"Cool," Taylor said, and pushed his mother out the door.
