Undying Love

Chapter 5

"Please fill out these forms, and someone will lead you back to get ready. You are number 39."

The lady behind the desk handed Cara a pack of what seemed to be 500 peices of paper. She looked around and found a seat, with her mother, the Hansons, and Jack right behind her.

Jack took the empty seat next to her. "Now, write in print, so they can all read it well. And don't make it too big, so you have room and don't have to scrunch everything up."

Cara started writing. She was used to this. Jack told her the same thing for every paper she ever filled out. She would think that he knew she knew how to do it by now. But she decided to humor him.

She put the finishing touches on her application and handed it to Jack. He looked over the paper, a satisfied smile and nod, and handed it back to Cara. She stood up and handed the packet to the receptionist, taking the pin and number she had held out for her.

"Good luck, honey!" Cara's mother said.

"Okay, when I am done, I will come out here. Will you have my bag so I can change?"

"Sure thing!" Robin said.

"Good luck, sweetie!" Diana said, patting her on the back.

"Yea! Good luck!" Zac gave her a big hug, almost knocking the wind out of her.

"Have fun," commented Isaac.

"Break a leg!" said Taylor. Cara smiled at them all, hooking eyes with Taylor right before she walked off. The three guys backed up and started talking.

"I can't belive we are actually going to see Cara dance!" said Zac. He really liked her, and was anctious to see what she could do.

"Yea, I know! It should be a privlage, saying as she is suposedly the number one dancer in the country!" They both looked at Taylor for imput, but saw he was staring off at something. They both looked over to where he was looking and giggled.

Cara had taken off her cover-up and was now in just her maroon camisole leotard and tan tights. She handed the pin and number to Jack, and he pinned it on her back. Cara looked at her party one last time and smiled. They all waved, and Cara entered the room.

'Wow,' was all Taylor could think. She looked great in that outfit. All of a sudden he was pulled by someone into a room to wait and watch.

It seemed like forever until number 39 was called. They had sat through almost ten introductions and dances. Taylor hoped that Cara was better than these people.

"Number 39, Cara Johnson." came over the speaker and Cara walked up to the front of the stage to the microphone.

One of the judges said to Cara, "Please state your name, age, and the name and type of your dance, please."

Taylor was impressed. She looked very calm out there. He couldn't believe that these people had to go through so much just to get into a dance studio.

"My name is Cara Johnson, and I'm 14 years old. I will be doing a lyrical number to the song Foolish Games."

Cool, Zac thought. He loved that song. He had never been to one of these things. He loved watching all of these people dance. Even though some of them weren't that good.

Cara backed up and posed for her opening. The music started and suddenly everyone who was before having a conversation, was now silent. She was beautiful. From the opening split, to the closing leaps, everything was done beautiful and perfect.

Isaac sat in amazment. He had never seen anyone who could get their leg up as high as she could. It was like she could contort herself however she wanted to.

As soon as the song and dance ended, the croud, which wasn't very big, went crazy. Jack smiled at himself. He knew that she aced it.
