The Chase by Todd Kes

Again a scenario idea not from me! (Hmmm... Either you are very productive or I am.... Hmmmm....)
Anyway, if you have questions or comments about this sub-scenario, mail them to Kes_Todd@colstate.edu .

So, imagine there is a sudden Mechfight. I mean... a VERY sudden Mechfight like a Mech invasion on a city while everybody (including the party) is asleep.
After they see what's happening, they have to get to their Mechs.
Or perhaps everybody just has a day off and travels around when the invasion starts.
Oh, I'm talking too much.

The case is that our party has to use a car (No, not a TANK!) to travel through the city.
Suddenly, they hear thunder and feel the heavy Mech feet crashing down onto the pavement...
When they look up, they see the giant form of a Mech (the Mech should be about as fast as the car, something like the Raven, Jenner, etc.)
The idea behind this is obvious, but for those who haven't seen Jurassic Park, I'll explain it.
Our (very sadistic) MechWarrior wants to play the very popular game "Step on the car that moves first" (Tap, you're it...)
To stop the party from getting out of the car, let the MechWarrior toast some civilians who were just walking around (so the party will think that they are safer inside).
The whole thing ends up like this: The Mech chases our party's car through the city until they either reach a defended place or until another Mech appears to fight the first one.
The cool thing about this sub-scenario is that it can be built into most other scenarios without big complications.
