Thought For Today

19-Jan-2004

Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world, A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

Matthew 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

I certainly hope that my daily thoughs are not an inconvience for anyone, but as you can see from the scriptures above I am allowing the light of Jesus to shine through me. I take the bible serious, and I take it to be completely true! I pray that you also believe the word of God. Just as Matthew 5:14 says, Ye are the light of the world, A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. I cannot hide out behind the walls of my church building, according to God's word I have to reach out to the world in what-ever way is available to me. To sit upon my pew in church and do, or say nothing to try and spread the word of God is not acceptable, Each and every person in the kingdom of God has at least one purpose that God has chosen for them to do, and one of mine is to tell people about Jesus and his love. Don't be offended by my Lord, OK?

Matthew 5:15 Pretty much says the same thing as Matthew 5:14. The people in God's kingdom cannot hide their light, they not only must let it shine, but they want to allow it to shine, so that someone lost in the darkness of the world may see their light shining like a beacon in the night, and follow it to the safety of God's love. Don't be offended by my God, OK?

Matthew 5:16 says, that we are to let our lights shine before men, not only our words, but we must allow our lights to shine by our works also, to say you love someone, and then turn your back on them in their hour of need is not letting your light shine! We are to help those in need, to do so will let that light shine brightly, and it will glorify the Father which is in heaven!! Don't be offended by my belief, OK? I'm not offended by your's.
