Thought For Today

27-Jan-2004

Ephesians 4:26 BE YE ANGRY, AND SIN NOT: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.

Todays scriptures are simple, and pretty much self explanitory. We are only human, and God knows that. He sent Jesus to walk upon the earth as a human. Jesus came in the flesh so that he would know what it was like to be human, to experience our feelings, our wants, and desires.

God knows that we get angry, it is not a sin to become angry. Anger itself is not a sin, it is what we allow the devil to do with that anger that is the sin, BE YE ANGRY, AND SIN NOT: We do not have to allow the devil to control our anger, as soon as we realize that anger is rising up in us we need to ask God to remove that anger from us. When we ask him to remove it, he will, but, we have to want it removed before God will remove it.

God gave us free will, if we want something gone from our lives, or if we want something added to our lives we have to ask God. So the next time you feel that anger rising in you, ask God to remove it and he will. You will feel a lot better when you are not angry anymore, I would much rather be singing and smiling, than cursing and frowning, wouldn't you??

Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil. This is telling us not to give our anger over to the devil, because if we do he will grab it and run with it. Many lives have been snuffed out because the devil grabbed someone's anger and ran with it, many lives have been turned upside down because the devil grabbed someone's anger and ran with it! Don't allow the devil access to your anger! Give your anger over to God and let him replace it with happiness, understanding, and joy!!
