I was born on December 15th in Osceola, Iowa. I was told by mom that I was born a lady's man. I was the only boy, with five girls, in the nursery. I would cry and cry and wake the girls up and then go to sleep. The nurses were not happy with me.
I went to school in Phoenix and graduated from Carl Hayden High School. Two weeks later I reported to the US Navel Base at San Diego, California. After I finished basic training, I went to Millington, Tennessee for further training. I was asked to give a few suggestions of where I wanter to be stationed. One choice I has was Yuma, Arizona. I was asked why would anyone would want to go there. I told them, after being raised in Phoenix, a degree or two doesn't make any difference. I was sent to Mirimar, California, where I spent the rest of my five years. One other time they did send me to Norfolk, Virginia for some training. I was a machinist mate.
After the navy, I went to Rice Aviation in Phoenix to complete the necessary training to get my license for Airframe and Powerplant. After which I was given a job in Everett, Washington at Tramco Aviation, a subsiderary of BF Goodrich. I have been there almost six years. I am a master mechanic.
My favorite pastime is jet skiing and camping with my wife and friends. My favorite TV program is the Simpsons.
I met my wife through my friend, Jason. Patsy worked at the Coliseum with Jason. When I was home I would go down and visit with them and thier friends after work. It also led me to work with them after I was out of the service while I attened Rice Aviation.
I work in Everett, Washington and just recently moved to my new home in Edmonds, Washington.
My favorite color is white.
Patsy Leon-Garvin:
I was born on March 27th and raised in Phoenix. I attended school and graduated from Camelback High School and the attended Phoenix College. I have three brothers, on of which is my twin.
I worked for Smart Practice and for seven years at the Veteran's Memorial Coliseum as an usher. By working all events I was able to meet such people as members of our Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Roadrunners.
I danced with the Primavera Folklorico Dance Group for twenty years. Part of the reason was because the instructors were my brother Phil and his wife Maria and because I love to dance. My dancing has taken me to Malaysia, California, and many places in Arizona. Some of the important people I have met were mayors of Phoenix.
My favorite color is hunter green. I enjoy Buffy the Vampire Slayer as my favorite TV program. I also enjoy jet skiing and camping with my husband and friends.
When I married Tim (five year now), it was my first time to live away from Phoenix. I now work for KMS Financial Services in Seattle where I am an Insurance and Advisory Specialist. I am currently enjoying my new home by decorating it and furnishing it.
One of the first things that people notice about Tim and I are our sizes. Tim is over six feet, and I am about five feet. You know the old saying: nice things come in small packages.
