Independent Female Loather of Love

written by Melinda Davila

Keep your murdered roses!
I cherish that thrive within the soil.

Prevent your tongue from spilling forth
False owrds I cannot hear.

Control your idle wandering hands!
They shall not meander onto my hidden treasures.

Interrupt your sleepy dreams of romance
Or prepare for a ride awakening; my rejection.

Why?
You're intrigued...
But I-
Am fatigued...
And no longer shall I be cupid's pawn,
For unto my life has awakened a new dawn.

So whisper not beside my rosy cheek
Lust not with longing eyes-

Do not think of my hearts as weak
Nor my beauty a potential prize-

For my name is not Average Woman
I am Independant Female
Loather of love
