How To Meditate

Meditation can help put you in a better state of mind. Rejuvenate your body and soul.

Imagine, just a short time each day can actually make you feel refreshed and more alive!

I began meditating while in high school. Lighting candles, burning incense, and turning on soothing music. This helped me to clear my mind. Relax.

As I continued to read about meditation and relaxation, the better I was able to understand what my mind was capable of doing. The healing that comes from within this practice is an added bonus!

The stress of everyday life can cloud our thoughts. Drag us down. Once you learn the wonderful benefits of meditation, you'll wonder how you ever got through a day without it!

Find a quiet place where you can relax. Turn the phone off, put on some music that makes you feel good. If you like candles, use them! The same with incesnse. You can also rub a little of your favorite perfume or oil along the length of the candle or candles. Vanilla extract is also very soothing.

Get into a comfortable position, close your eyes, take in a nice deep, slow breath, releasing slowly, three times. Relax. Let yourself go. Allow your thoughts to flow freely. Now, imagine yourself someplace that you find relaxing. A beach at sunset, a meadow, wherever you feel calm. Smell the air. Feel the gentle breeze. Relax.

Now, imagine your stress flowing out of your body. Let it go. Continue breathing slowly.

Hear the sounds of nature as your stress floats up and away.

Imagine a beautiful white light slowly flowing into your body. Gently spreading through every cell and organ. You feel peaceful. The calmness is almost overwhelming. Continue breathing slowly. Enjoy the freedom you feel.

Before you open your eyes again, take in a nice deep breath and release it slowly. Repeat if you like.

Let yourself come back, stretch if you feel like it. Slowly, open your eyes.

You've just had your first meditation experience! I call it my mini-vacation! Each day, I look forward to this special time that's just for me. It leaves me refreshed and ready to go! Sometimes, during a busy, stressful day, I may do this twice! Even if it's only for a few minutes.

After awhile, you'll find that you can meditate at your desk, waiting in a long line, but never while driving! You will b able to keep your eyes open. Daydreaming is a form of meditation! You'll find which ways work best for you as time goes on.

Believe me, you'll be looking forward to your own mini-vacation before long!

So relax, and enjoy!
