Viewers of the movie say it's endearing love story is one of the theads that tugs at their hearts. Others say they were riveted by the terrible tragedy that sent hundreds of passengers to their deaths in the cold northern Atlantic Ocean when the luxury liner struck an iceberg and sank. The sinking of the Titanic on April 14, 1912, was one of the worst maritime disasters in history. Although the vessel had been thought to be unsinkable because of its 16 watertight compartments, the iceberg punctured five of them-one more than considered possible in any accident. The ship sank on it's maiden voyage in less than three hours, taking with it more than 1,500 men, women and children.
