Panas
General:
The Capital planet of Panas is home to the regional government which
oversees the system. Outwardly suporting the Empire, the Panasian system
has been left alone to run it's own affairs although a moderate Imperial
presense is still felt in the system. Panas itself is a major exporter
of starship grade metals mined from it's resources on the Isel Peninsula.
Being rich in farmland, Panas also exports foodstuffs to other planets in
the system. Panas' only major import is medicinal goods, which were sorely
needed following a bad outbreak of Mindaana Plague several seasons ago.
Life:
There are several indigenous creatures to Panas. Deer, wolves and
other forest animals can be found within Panas' vast forests and wilderness.
Panas' oceans also boast a great deal of marine life typical to most Type I
planets of it's kind. The only surprising creature found on Panas was the
presence of several nests of swamp Ghest. A particularly nasty variant of
the Ghest found on other worlds.
Terrain:
Several thousand years ago, Panas was ravaged by a massive series of
earthquakes which left the surface of the planet crumpled and folded.
Towering mountains seperated by deep, lush valleys is the norm for much of
Panas.
Cities:
Only near the oceans does the land flatten out somewhat allowing
for the construction of major cities. Kierst, Panas' chief industrial city
lies just on the southern-most tip of the Isel Peninsula, and Panas City
also lies just on the coast of Middleocean. There are some few towns and
settlements away from the major cities of Panas, and these can be found
nestled in Panas' valleys or atop some of it's smaller mountain ranges.
Climate:
Panas' climate fluctuates during the seasons as it revolves around the
system's sun. While winters never seem to fall much below 10 or 15 degrees,
summers can easily reach a blistering 35+ degrees. The Panasian Bureau of
Health and Welfare strongly warns against prolonged outdoor activity without
sufficient protection or without being used to such temperatures.
